Re: What are you watching? Film/TV
very good movie. Woody is a scary mother fucker. Affleck nails it yet again. watch "The Killer Inside Me" yet? that dudes got it man..someone get him an Academy Award. the hardest call of all time was Casey vs Javier for best supporting actor in 2007. I still can't call it.Waylon wrote:I just watched it. Woody nailed it again. Pretty good movie. Top films of 2013?
The Institute probably grabs my number 1.
Followed by in no specif order Pacific Rim, Only God Forgives, Spring Breakers, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Gravity, Upstream Color, Mud and The Hunt.
I though Prisoners was a bit of a mess, seemed like a made for tv movie with big name actors.

"THIS IS THE END" was the funniest movie of the year. "ANCHORMAN 2" a very close second.
Looking forward to "THE HOBBIT" and the several movies you mentioned that I need to check out.

O love will you read the letters I will send to you.
Re: What are you watching? Film/TV
I fucking love Spaced, but all of Simon Pegg's movies are a yawn for me.
Re: What are you watching? Film/TV
The Hobbit screener just leaked this week. As did Gravity, American Hustle and Out Of The Furnace. waiting on The Wolf Of Wallstreet.

Well, I won't actually be watching them or caring what celebrity is wearing what, but I will be downloading some screeners.N.Y.H.C. wrote:yeah it's that time of year. another good thing is waiting to see what dress that little minx Jennifer Lawrence is going to squeeze into.hellboy wrote:There are some good things about the Academy Awards....N.Y.H.C. wrote:The Hobbit screener just leaked this week. Spike Jonze's "Her" should leak soon as well. I won't watch them but I always check the results of who won what. I'm crushing on Jenny lately so maybe I'll flick it on when she does her red carpet interview.

Mate, I think you're thinking of "THE WORLD'S END", which I just watched. Also a great film, but the worst of the trilogy. Not Tyson wrote:I fucking love Spaced, but all of Simon Pegg's movies are a yawn for me.
"THIS IS THE END" is the one with every famous funny person in it. Compulsory viewing if you like seeing Satan's cock. Also fucking hilarious, if only for Michael Cera.

American Hustle was great, Christian Bale really pulled off a dramatic role.

Just watched The Wolverine. Easily the best Comic Book movie this year.
Unless there's one I'm forgetting which is entirely possible, but I guess if I forgot about it it probably wasn't the great to begin with.

Re: What are you watching? Film/TV
I liked it too. The only scene I thought they really fucked up was the Wolverine vs 100 ninjas. I mean it was right there, right there! And they didn't do it.
No it wasn't, TDK or Iron Man or Avengers, but it was fun.

That's what I liked about it. It was a mostly standalone story. I hope there are more comic book movies like this in the future.Ravenpig wrote:No it wasn't, TDK or Iron Man or Avengers, but it was fun.
Also that bullet train fight was probably the best action sequence I've seen all year.
