Recently bought The Seer. Had never been a Swans fan and none of their earlier work, including Children of God, interested me at all. But sometimes you take a shot on an album and fuck is The Seer good. Read somewhere that Gira said it took him 30 years to write this album and it shows. Meticulous attention to detail. Avant-garde without being pretentious. One wouldn't typically associate "Meticulous" with "Avant-garde" but that is exactly how it feels. I respect the Swans for their impact on post-rock but found their earlier works rather simplistic compared to a number of current post-rock bands. Not the case at all with The Seer. Has a timeless quality to it. Production is excellent. Superb album.

PUSCIFER - "Green Valley". I've got goosebumps, and kind of feel like crying.
Why is this guy such an asshole? And more to the point, why do I care? Shouldn't I just plug in my headphones and listen to his creative output? What else that this guy does matters?
