Mog and Poop and all the ships at sea:
WTF Yo?
My Tigers sweep the shit out of Boston
Whilst your O's miss a golden shower of an opportunity to close the gap in the East by getting swept at the hands of fucking Cleveland of All people (if you can call them people),I gotta ask:
WTF Yo!Â
And then, of course, we then get swept ourselves by the fucking Lost Anaheimlick Angels.

I fail to see how splitting the series 2 games a piece (assuming the 7-3 O's lead tonight holds) constitutes a "sweep" by Cleveland.

I have nothing note-worthy to say about this, or any other all-too-familiar tale we have thrust in our face, ramming it down our throats with a rapist-sense of humor every morning and evening and afternoon by the 'media,' other than to quote the old adage that 'on a rainy day, the apple doesn't fall very far from the saved penny.'

Meh. I only care about Hockey. Baseball's boring to watch. Fun to play, boring as fuck to watch. Basketball is painful to watch. Football is okay I guess. Soccer is the same as basketball. Bunch of pansies faking injures to get penalties.
we should get together and touch our special places together... although I will say, watching the NFL by way of DVR and subjectively (solely based on the fact that scheduled internationally is a 'take what games you get' crap-shoot) has made it much more enjoyable the last couple of years (apart from all the pussification of the league rules instituted in recent times).

You have no excuse to ever miss any game you ever want to watch.
That's the sole reason how I can watch all my football games. I even went to this website and put it on the big screen at a bar last weekend to watch the Young Socceroos game.

^ad breaks? Â if so, no thanx... part of the reason I like the NFL again is I can get through 3 games in 3 hours rather than 1 game in 3+
They steal other channels and whatnot from all around the world. I watched the Korea vs Iran game the other weak, in Arabic.
So it all depends on what feed you get. Sometimes you really luck out. I had an English commentary of a K-League game last week. Kittaan caught it too.

anyone watch the Draft last night? damn Brooklyn made a splash. Knicks took Hardaway JR. from Michigan, not a bad pick. his upside, downside and body are identical to JR Smith who is probably going to leave via free agency. not a bad selection at 24. a TON of international players taken. Steven Adams from New Zealand looks very promising.

Watched most of it. Â Very surprising at the top picks, but it was clear this was a weird draft year. Â Damn, Nerlens took a SERIOUS hit dropping to 7th, and that translates to nearly 6MM less for him over 3 years. Â Ouch. Â But I wouldn't have taken him earlier either.
The Warriors were pretty damn active for not even having a pick.  I'm intrigued by who we landed (for a very good price after all the gymnastics at the end of the first round by Bob Myers and Jerry West) Nemanja Nedovic from Serbia.  Likely a move to address potentially losing Jack.  Who knows when he'll play for us, but could be a great fit.  Wish we had a backup center, because we are hurting there.
Yep, Brooklyn is serious about contending. Â All things being equal, it will be Nets/Heat for the Eastern Finals in 2014
I saw Hardaway Jr play in a game against Stanford late in the season this year and he was kind of underwhelming. Â Do you think it's a bit odd that Spike seems to be the Knicks spokesperson? Â He's just a fan... where the hell is the GM in these situations?
It will be interesting to see how these picks pan out over the course of the next few years. Â It always is. Â

Somebody's forgetting about the Bulls being 100% next year.Â
And even with this trade Miami would still smoke the Nets.Â

Nope, didn't forget about that.  I was just talking to a buddy about that very thing.  Rose is a question mark.  On paper, yes, Chicago will be a serious contender, but until he gets back in rhythm and proves he's still his old burly self, I'm not a believer.  And there are a lot of other concerns about the Bull's roster - who's coming back, who will be healthy.  Not a foregone conclusion.  At least they were smart enough to keep Thibodeau.  There were some very harebrained coaching decisions this year.
And even with this trade Miami would still smoke the Nets.Â
I would not be too sure of that. Â Wade is a big "if" with his knee and other concerns - he's been beat up every year he's been in the league and it's catching up with him. Â And unless and until the Heat get a legitimate center, there are teams that matchup very well against them. Â I think the most likely scenario is Nets/Heat, but obviously, a LOT can and will change between now and then. Â If Hellboy doesn't get another wild hair and wipe this version of the forum, let's come back and revisit this during the 13/14 season.
Ki77aan

The Heat faced the worst team they could face in the finals and won. The Spurs are very strong where Miami is pretty weak (PG, C) and they still pulled it out.  Â
You could make a case that perhaps Memphis would have been a worse match up for them though, I guess.
Just to be clear this isn't any "Miami is awesome" thing, I can't stand them, as a matter of fact. But I call it as I see it, and I don't see how this new Nets team could beat Miami. You make a good point about the Bulls, but Rose should be back to normal with all the extra time he took off. "Should" being the key word, I'll give you that.
Over in the West, if Howard (even in his diminished state) signs with the Rockets, we instantly get a new monster team. If he signs with the Mavs, they instantly become one of the "lower" contenders. If he stays with the Lakers, I don't see much of a difference for them the first couple of seasons, at least.
My way too early contenders list:
West- OKC, Spurs, Rockets (if they sign Howard)
East- Heat, Bulls(fully healthy Rose, maybe a minor signing or two), Nets

@ UKE - Yeah, go ahead and jump off, we're OK with that.
@ RP - I want Dwight to stay with the Lakers, where I think he'll do the least damage OR sign with the Warriors! Â Like I said, let's see how this season goes, it's all just conjecture at this point.

@ RP - re: New-Look Nets. Â Here's a perspective on it. Â Not saying I totally agree, but this kind of supports what I was saying above. Â And don't forget Jason Terry is part of the deal - instant 6th man. Â They not only have a great starting lineup but a pretty deep bench as is - & the owner and Kidd seem gung-ho about pursuing even more solid veterans. Â They will make a serious run at a title over the next two years, because with all those old mostly played-out fuckers, that's all they'll get.

It's not a bad argument, and honestly I hope its right. Despite my dislike I can't help but admit that Lebron is in that "will find a way to win" zone right now.
But yes, I would love it if was anyone but the Heat in the Finals next year. Bulls, Nets, whatevs.
That's not even a "hater" thing, just an "I'm sick of seeing them" thing.

^ Yup, agreed. Â And as far as the Bulls... Nate is probably gone, and as little as he is, he kept them in at least a couple of those playoff games, plus they'll lose other key pieces. Â And their answer: Â
Bulls Likely To Fill Out Roster With Minimum Salary Players
The Chicago Bulls have eight players under contract and are likely to fill out the rest of their roster with minimum salary players.
Nazr Mohammed played for the Bulls last season on a veteran-minimum contract and expects to return for the 2013-14 campaign.
"They want me back," Mohammed said. "I want to be back. Now it's the technicality of getting (the contract) done."
The Bulls are already over the projected luxury tax line for next season.
