Watched Brazil dump all over Spain.

Watched the O's sweep the Yankees to 4th place in the AL East.

Congrats to Andy Murray.

***

Well people, my Detroit Tigers have been hot closing in on the All-Star break next week.

Firmly entrenched in first place and with a sizable amount of remaining games against the White Sox,

I think it's a safe bet the Detroit Tigers should repeat as A.L. Central Division Champions

to which I can most assuredly relate.

In other divisions, the West is a toss-up thus far with Texas and Oakland as your choices

AND both teams have better records than every team in the East except Boston.

If I'm the Yankees or Orioles, Moggy and Marky, I'm wondering if the East has three teams this year...?

Doesn't look like it to me but I'm crazy so take me with a grain of salt...on a cracker.

Happy "Dingering!"

Crow!  You're snoozing on the SK action bro.  This needs to be seen, even if it IS Baseball related:

How is that physically possible?! I’ve watched the clip backwards and forwards — see below — and still have no idea how she contorts herself in that way. But anyhow, the pitch is amazingly accurate, and easily one of the greatest first pitches I’ve ever seen.

The pitch was thrown by rhythmic gymnast Shin Soo-ji in South Korea for the Doosan Bears, who were playing the Samsung Lions.

Holy shit, this is a beautiful move:

The play of the week was made by a financial analyst.

Former Northwestern University star striker Matt Eliason, who is currently a financial analyst in Chicago, scored a magical bicycle kick goal in a charity soccer match that was meant to be played by stars of the world’s best teams.

At a charity soccer game organized by Lionel Messi called Messi & Friends, the organizers were left scrambling after many of the high profile players backed out of the game at the last minute. So they turned to former Northwestern University players to fill up the roster, including Eliason, who stole the show with this wonder goal.

Thanks Wink.

Hey folks, here's your Cheesy Sports Break.

On record, I love futbul.

I just wish the US didn't suck.

**

The Detroit Tigers starting second baseman for tonight's game against The Chicago White Sox

batted 1.000 for the entire 2011 season.

********

The Detroit Lions today announced quarterback Matthew Stafford has agreed with the team on a new, three-year extension worth a reported, $53 million dollars.  Despite the vile, absurd and always-flabbergasting venue that is "sports," this deal is good for both parties, in this reporters mind.

Has ESPN been worse for sports

as MTV has been for music?

Yeah, really hoping the Fox Sports "sportscenter"-esque/network that's starting next month gives ESPN a run for its money.  If one of their promos simply said, wee won't celebrate Tim Tebows birthday like another network" I'd be hooked for life.

Oh, and 5, yep F-I-V-E, Orioles on the all star team.  Suck it.

And not one Oriole would be in the playoffs were they to begin today.

Yep.  Luckily since the season doesn't end today that same team, that has a better record than, oh say, the Tigers, still has 2+ months to work their way in.

I can't stand Berman anymore; it has gotten tired to say the least.

I listened to about 10 minutes on the radio and had to switch to music.

Saturday night is going to be cray-cray for me: Socceroos play Korea (:O), and the A-League All Stars play Man u. At the same time.

Thankfully, the Socceroos game is on TV here, but I'll have to catch the All Stars game on my laptop. I'm going to put it right next to my TV, so I can watch both games at once. While drinking twelve beers.

Like I said, cray-cray. I'm super excited.

^ Well, did you at least get a giggle out of the 7 person slam dunk?

I think they should recreate that using only deaf mute athletes.  Instant classic.
