What a pathetic fucking newsletter. When your official website makes a newsletter post saying they know nothing about the album it is fucking comical at best. Every time I think Tool have lowered the bar about as far as it can go when it comes to professionalism they find a way to take it down another notch. Fucking pathetic.

They took it down a notch by doing the same thing they've done for the last 20 years? I'd have thought your expectations would be in check by now

Fourtheye shout out from Blair always brings a smile to my face.
I actually like that the guys are keeping this new album as secret as they can.
It's going to be difficult to stay away from the forums, but I'm hoping to go into this one as pure as I can.
As the flip side to _peterpwn, I think album is going to be incredible. So looking forward to it.
*ugh...just realized I posted this in The Grudge. So be it...

This whole thing is sickening in the xtreme.
More sickening than a busload of angry student Democrat crybabies on their way to a rally.

I remember a thread where we all predicted the album release date.
We all know that the vocals will be shit, case in point: APCs album. Layered overproduced whining about society and government. Is it too much to hope for an instrumental album in 5 years?

The vocals on the APC album were great though.

The guitars sounded more human than his voice. I may not like it, but at least Jimmy doesn't take 8 years to write 8 songs and a few sound bites. If/when the album comes out, I can't wait to criticize the vocals. I get it, my opinion isn't popular. I guess I just miss the Aenima days. I'm one of those assholes who can't let go of the past. Danny's drum work is what keeps me interested in this band, if you can call what I have an interest. More like an unhealthy habit.

Well opinions on Eat The Elephant is pretty divided, so I don't think your opinion is unpopular.
My opinion:
Billy & Maynard were pretty keen to change it up for APC, not just a rehash of their 90s records. The vocal style that Maynard uses on the album is a reflection of this. I don't think it's reasonable to assume that Tool will also display such a change in style.
The lyrical content of the album is really not that different to previous APC albums
Some Maynard fans are pretty easily "offended" by his lyrics. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume most of these are 40 year old white males, likely Trump voters.

The Left are the ones who go around in life being perpetually offended.

Politics in general can frigg off. Idgaf about who is president, we all know the shadow people run the world.
I vote on shit that matters, like recreational marijuana and corrupt district judges.
Didn't read too much into the APC album, but will say I respect your comments.
Cheers

I'm a 40 year old white male that did not enjoy Eat the Elephant. That's about as deep as it gets folks.

I love how white male is now some kind of insult, especially when it's hurled from a white male.
Useful idiot comes to mind.

Ok, so let's get back on topic. We can all agree that a 12+ year wait for an album from a band that has no broken up is shit.

Instead of playing the which current pollie is a dickhead game, a much better challenge would be to tell me one who isn't?
And yeah, would be nice to get some kind of update from the slack bastards soon but saying that, May Jay is nut deep in APC tour so hopefully once that finishes up the cunts give us something to cheer about

I wonder what's going to happen if it's finally released. Will it be safe to go outside? It'll probably be ok.

Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and then acceptance.

I suspect most of the complaining will be that "Maynard is too preachy" etc.

the #1 question is what we gonna do once the album drops.
shall we start with "when's the fucking the next album coming out" right away? suggestions?
