Dream Theater is what you'd get if Bryan Adams fronted Queensryche and started doing Yes covers.
And yes...that does mean they suck.
On the one hand, I get where you're going with that (although Bryan Adams on vox in place of James LaBrie would be a significant upgrade), but on the other hand, I consider DT the Nickelback of Prog.
@ NYHC - Dude, they are all clearly proficient on their instruments.  It's what they choose to do with their instruments that is in question.  And if Portnoy was thier main draw, what now?  Mangini is a perfect fit for DT, technically proficient but no organic feel or groove.  That being said, who cares what pretty much everybody else on this forum thinks?  If you like them, good for you.

I don't care I'm just playing around because everyone rags on them. I enjoy the wide spectrum. I must be the only guy with Pantera and The Cure on the same playlist

- You like noisy music?
- Yes. The louder the better. Stops me from thinking.
- You don't like to think? What do you like?
- Never thought about it.

Possibly, but everything "Sepultura" have put out since Max left is better than anything Max has done since then.

^ Didn't think the song was THAT bad, Pete. Â But it's not exactly great either. Â Found the vid mildly entertaining. Â I am interested to hear the whole thing. Â I dig Kenny's voice and have never understood the hate from you and HB. Â It's not even that quirky, a la Jon Anderson, Geddy etc. Â Do you honestly think he sings poorly, or you just don't like the sound? Â And this from fuckers who dig the cookie monster vox... Â I think this has already been asked and answered, but I can't recall...
Â
By the way, HB - did you delete the Karnivool thread? Â I looked everywhere and can't find that fucker. Â Maybe it never existed on the new site... that's probably it.
