Tool Oz + NZ Feb 2020 Tour discussion
Re: Tool Oz + NZ Feb 2020 Tour discussion
Could Tool skipping Adelaide be because of how outspoken Hellboy has been in the past about their ticketing practices?

It's possible I guess, but they still seem to let me into shows.

So with all the American guys getting seats instead of GA I think I might try for seats tomorrow.
I've always seen Tool GA, anyone want to chime in with what's better?

Kinda depends on the seat really. I was in literally the back row of the Sydney Ent Centre on the 2007(?) tour and it was ok at best. Felt like I couldn't have been further from the stage. In the better "gold" seats I expect it's a more rewarding experience.
I prefer the atmosphere of standing shoulder to shoulder with Tool fans in GA though. It's an acquired taste.

Haha. Well he did write an official letter so it clearly must be a vendetta against him.
Seen em 9 times GA. The last time I saw em was seated but was smack bang in the centre and close to the ga so didn't feel that far back and surpsingly enjoyed it.
To me u always get the better atmosphere in ga but found the ability to take in the whole show at least from the seats I had that one time were better. If there's ever a band I can handle getting seats for its tool but I imagine my view could be changed If I end up getting shit seats.

Yeah I'm thinking the fact with the presale tomorrow and I'm aiming for 1 seat I should get something decent.
The only other metal show I've seen from the stands was Pantera and it was great for several reason, great view, great sound and FUCK being in that mosh.

I want GA, will be very disappointed in anything less. Ive done TooL seated once. Worst TooL experience.

I've got a post-it note in my wallet that states "Always do the opposite of what Liz says"
Decision made.

What if she says don't listen to me on this next thing I'm about to tell you to do? Or am i living in a fantasy land?
Man I'm gutted I never saw Pantera. I'll aim for GA coz that's just my default thing I do but would be ok with seats as long as they are decent views and I'm not surrounded by fuckheads

Unavoidable at a Pantera show
Re: Tool Oz + NZ Feb 2020 Tour discussion
Met the most delightful guys from Ulladulla on the way to that show and in the stands I was sitting next to an Italian and a Leb who were cool as fuck, not going to deny the mosh was full of fucking fuckwit skin heads though.

Yet every band who has tried to emulate them has failed, says a lot.

I just want Tyson to go to the next TooL show and have the most fabulous time. In fact I insist upon it.

Re: Tool Oz + NZ Feb 2020 Tour discussion
Presales for the first NZ show seemed to sell out pretty quick, with a second NZ show added seven minutes after they commenced.
I'm sure we'll see a similar story for the Sydney and Melbourne shows.

Is anyone in?
This is ridiculous.
But not unexpected, i guess.

Nice.
Section 44 here. Upper & directly side of stage. Not great... But i'll take it.
