Me and my partner of the opposite sex discussed Tool a bit today and slipped into the subject of Tool vinyl records. When I mentioned that 10k Days was never released on vinyl she was quite shocked and asked me why to which I had no good answer. I'm sure this has been discussed about a million times by now but have they ever given a reason to why it still hasn't been released on vinyl?

I've always assumed it had something to do with the artwork.

Most likely for the same reasons Opiate was released on the 21st Anniversary instead of the 20th, and why the album is taking so long.
Also, I believe mastering for a vinyl release is a little different (not to mention having to rework the art) so there's a little more to it that just saying "let's release this on vinyl".
I hope they do release it one day though. Â And I hope the next album comes with vinyl as an option from day 1.

They released the Lateralus vinyl right before 10K Days dropped. I'm assuming they'll do the same for the next one.

Yeah, I was thinking that the other day. Â Wouldn't surprise me if we see it out for Xmas this year.

I've been wanting a 10K Days vinyl for a while now. Hopefully it comes out sooner than later.
I would like to see a few more collectibles released before the new album...10K Days vinyl and "The Pot" video.

Didnt have the time or the money to take part I'm afraid. I was there in spirit though (as I am most years).
