I think everyone agrees cancer sucks.
I would have said Hitler was a bad man, but you know, he had the right idea, just didn't take it far enough.

void wrote:Been a while since I posted. MOG is just calling shit like he see's it, as usual. It doesn't mean you have to agree with it. Just move on. I'm on your side MOG and I totally feel that music is sacred enough to some (sometimes myself included) to be taken at a do-or-die level. At the same time though... it doesn't really have to be. Yes, Tool got lax and complacent because of what they achieved and earned... but it also allows them the ability to make music and be a band in the manner they see fit - which is apparently only when they feel like doing it. Is that kind of lame in the face of all of us working-people? Yes. But those are just the facts.
If they come out with a new album, cool. If not, oh well... but if Tool is the only band some of you really follow... what you can take away from MOG is that he's pretty much just saying go check out all this amazing other music that's out there. There's a lot of it.
That is Mog's message? Right...
Of course there is other amazing music out there. I doubt a single person here ONLY listens to TOOL or TOOL related projects, or even sticks to one specific genre, for that matter. If that is the point Mog is trying to get across to us "Toolios", then i agree overwhelmingly. There IS a whole world of music to listen to and we shouldn't be concerned with TOOL alone. Mog pretends that he is the only one that actually explores other types of music and he is DEAD FUCKING WRONG.
Mog is just spreading hate and negativity because that is what he feels inside. TOOL let him down years ago and he has never forgiven them since. Now he feels as if he has been made a fool of by a group of scam artists who tricked him into liking their music. What's wrong, Mog, did your life not turn out the way that TOOL had promised it would? Did you actually believe your life would become anything else but misery and woe?
Maybe your life would have ended up better if you had stopped putting a price value on art and viewing music as a "PRODUCT"...

lol this is awesome. Ok but guys you have to admit...if it weren't for MOG the forum wouldn't be half as active. I went away 6 months ago or something, came back and it's still going. Credit where credit is due

^ Actually Danny from Kauai was banned for pulling his shit. Although I'm pretty sure he still lurks and occasionally posts as somebody or other.
But yes, Moggie is a fairly late arrival. As are Crow and even Tyson. I clearly remember when Tyson first reared his ugly turtle head around here.

It's about how you leave, not when you arrive . . .

Love, be loved, and be happy.
Failing that, "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women".
