Everyones saying Eat the Elephant vocal stuff, remember this guys old now. Thats just his range now a days. For me, I love the new track. But I can tell its not for every Tool fan so, to each his own. I save my full opinion till I get the album in my hand.

- Annoying Eat the Elephant vocal range/production. Sliding melody with no distinct form.
- Audio mix sounds like the band is just beyond sight, around a hill or something.
- This arrangement is weak, it never sounds like it really starts, just a build up of noises and meandering vocals. There isn't enough structure.
- Fart drums. Where the fuck is the clarity??

I completely agree. I was the same way with invincible (can you believe it?) But that song grew on me a shit ton. This song underwhelmed me on the first listen not gonna lie, but on a few more listens I'm starting to really enjoy it.

3rd listen, it's kinda of awesome

They fixed the issue with 10,000 days that now the drums are prominent as fuck.

I love it. I was pretty disappointed with 10K Days though. I do agree the vocals kind of meander. Wish there was more structure or a flow to them. Overall I’m very pleased with their return.

New newsletter up. Says their will be an unboxing video later for the album packaging. Will be cool to see Adam walk through all the bells and whistles.

I definitely will and will be listening non-stop (just like with Days which I don't necessarily like), but there are some significant issues with the production that won't change unless the disc (or vinyl) sounds better for some reason. Danny's drums, especially at the end sound like flat thuds recorded through a tube. What the hell happened there?

Immediate reaction is it doesn’t go anywhere and the vocals are annoying.

Your range goes down with age. This is forced high end. It is specifically recorded with the high end amped up and his meandering around notes combined with the constant harmony is a wall of sound that doesn't blend all the time.

all the tool (and for instance the mars volta) stuff where I went "mmmhmmm this is too unstructured and doesn't go anywhere" at first turned out to be the best and long lasting songs that i never get tired of for me. it's the same with this one. seriously hyped.

I think the 10 track thing is a placeholder. Apple shows 10 tracks too... But they also show songs 2 through 10 all being 3:00 minutes long...

Interesting. It would be great to get a formal press release of what exactly is going on with this physical release. Is it or is it not 2 discs?
