Volume X was a solid album and one of my favorites in the past couple of years. Let's see how the follow-up is.

I found this to be a pretty enjoyable, if somewhat "vanilla" instrumental doom/post-rock album. Worth a listen if either of those genre's tickle your fancy:

Man I have been listening to the new Mastodon and it's fucking great. That second track is shit (still dont know what they were thinking with that song) and knocks the album down from a 9 to an 8 but it is so nice to see them return to a theme based album because they do it so damn well. Absolutely their best since Crack the Skye.

I've grown to really like the album, it has a couple of dull moments, but a number of really good tracks. I've said elsewhere I reckon Jaguar God is my favorite track of 2017 so far. At this stage I think it'll be a really good chance to make my top 10 for 2017
