I didn't like the dubbed English audio. I enjoyed the movie.
I saw a Spanish horror movie a few years back called The Baby's Room that was pretty good. Then there's Guillermo Del Toro's movies as well.

Oh ok. Dont watch the dubbed, watched the subtitled.
If you're the kind of person who's ok with that.

Dubbed voices usually suck on foreign films. I think The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo had good dubbed voices, but I might've watched the subtitles. I usually watch with subtitles.

I'm ok with subtitles after like 2 minutes. I am a fast reader. I'm fast at everything. That's what she said. About me.

I'm good with subtitles before the movie even starts.

I went along to the Banff Mountain Movie Festival World Tour on Saturday night, and here's a quick review of the highlights:
Sea of Rock: A mountain biking flick about some Austrian dudes who ride through a extremely rugged part of the Austrian Alps. Bonus: You can watch it on Youtube:
Keeper of the Mountains: Story of Elizabeth Hawley, an old bird who has been maintaining a written database of climbs to significant peaks in the Himalayas. Fascinating and quite humorous story about a woman not afraid to call it how it is.
North of the Sun: A couple of Norwegian bros decide to clean an a beach north of the Arctic Circle so that they can surf on it, and do their bit for the environment. Quite funny and inspiring.
The Last Great Climb: The story of a team who decide to tackle on of the last great climbs in the world - Ulvetanna Peak in Antartica.

X-Men DoFP was the tits. Great action flick with a damn impressive cast.
► Show Spoiler
That Quicksilver scene was one of the most inventive, funny and expensive (I'm assuming) I can remember seeing.
Godzilla was fun but paled in comparison.

Godzilla had its moments but disappointing overall. Could have done with more Cranston.

.
I freaking LOVED this flick. Fassbender is ridiculously great as Magneto. The future Sentinels were insane. Blink's power's were even cooler on screen!
The very last scene in the movie (not the extra credit scene, which was also cool) made me actually say, "wait, WHAT?"
Great, fun, flick. I wanna see it again.

One time a friend of mine told me he liked to go the movies by himself. I was like "whaaat that's weird".
His explanation, (more or less) "Look, you take a date or your girl you're more than likely to see something you don't wanna see. If you do see something you wanna see she's more than likely gonna bitch about it. With friends you're gonna have to see whatever the majority wants to see, which you won't always agree with. But when I go by myself, I pick the movie, get my popcorn and my soda, sit where I wanna sit, and watch the damn thing in peace."
He got me. Now I love going to the movies solo. But when I do go it's during the week for one of the early shows. Saw X-Men today at noon, there was like 10 people in the theater.

Flying solo rocks. I've never seen a bad movie by myself.
With girlfriends and friends, however . . .

Saturday mornings work a treat for me.

I saw Watchmen by myself, ugh.
Oh and Cosmopolis, the worst film I've ever seen.
The theatre was completely empty, I soon found out why.
Didn't walk out though, but it was rough.

Fuck other people. If I only went to things with friends I'd never get out of the house. Flying solo ftw.

Fuck yeah. It's a weird notion to accept, but flying solo can be fucking GREAT, for many activities. I used to be so resistant to the idea but getting older or just general circumstances put me in a position at various points where it was either a) be a hermit who had social inclinations but no one to join me for things, or b) fly solo and just say "fuck it."
I have had some of my best and wildest times out by myself meeting new people. I've taken vacations and traveled solo with great results. Granted, all of these things are often better with the right people but if that can't happen, no reason to miss out if you don't want to.
And I'm talking social stuff too like going out to bars/nightlife, concerts, etc. Going to a movie? I've gotten to where having someone with me is almost a hindrance. If you go to movies solo you can essentially sit anywhere you want no matter how crowded the film. There are always single seats in great spots even at "sold out" movies on opening weekend, etc. And you're basically going to something just to shut up and pay attention anyway, so missing some idle conversation before/after the film isn't the worst thing.

Going to a bar by yourself can be one of the most rewarding things you can do.
It can also be the most depressing.

Haha, too true. It's really usually better if you're in a town where you know a good number of people and/or the bartenders. That helps. But I've done it in foreign cities and ended up meeting really cool people and having wild times. Just depends.

The awkward pauses are the worst... but once you get past that, the sex is great!

There's really no point going to a movie with someone else anyway, unless it's some chick who can suck your dick while you watch.

I just wanted to talk about this scene today. The one in The Dark Knight Rises where Bane and his mercenaries are infiltrating the plane of Sie Yayey and his agent's.
This scene hands down is one of the most tragic scenes in film history to date, and I'll tell you why.
When Dr. Pavel is exchanging blood with the decoy in an attempt to fake his death which I could talk about this for hours because this part in of itself is absolutely breathtaking but I'm not going to speak about it, I'll save my analysis for another day.
As one of Bane's most trusted adversaries, Unovas, is hooking up his cable to rise with his brothers into the plane they have floating above, Bane stop's him and gently puts his hand on Unovas' shoulder and roared "They expect Unovas in the wreckage brother." My jaw literally dropped because I remember reading this in the comic's as a kid. Just the way he said it, like it was Unovas destiny to sacrifice himself and they both knew..
Now I'll tell you why this is tragic and heartbreaking. When Bane calls out his order to Unovas, you can see the gentle loving gaze they share with each other, the most exquisite sense of trust, like they're both communicating on the same wavelength the way life long best friends, brothers would communicate and even a father and son, but no you could tell there was an extra something going on. Bane and Unovas were star crossed lovers. Unovas just wanted to please Bane, as he was the submissive one in the relationship, you can tell because Bane's eyes are more hungry and Unovas eyes are more eager to be taken. All in all this scene was truly heartbreaking to watch, two lovers who have bonded all there lives, Unovas just wanted to support Bane's cause and ensure the rising of the fire, you could tell that Unovas cared more about Bane's cause than even his own life, and Bane almost started crying hysterically as he told Unovas his final mission was at hand.
