I just wanted to talk about this scene today. The one in The Dark Knight Rises where Bane and his mercenaries are infiltrating the plane of Sie Yayey and his agent's.

This scene hands down is one of the most tragic scenes in film history to date, and I'll tell you why.

When Dr. Pavel is exchanging blood with the decoy in an attempt to fake his death which I could talk about this for hours because this part in of itself is absolutely breathtaking but I'm not going to speak about it, I'll save my analysis for another day.

As one of Bane's most trusted adversaries, Unovas, is hooking up his cable to rise with his brothers into the plane they have floating above, Bane stop's him and gently puts his hand on Unovas' shoulder and roared "They expect Unovas in the wreckage brother." My jaw literally dropped because I remember reading this in the comic's as a kid. Just the way he said it, like it was Unovas destiny to sacrifice himself and they both knew..

Now I'll tell you why this is tragic and heartbreaking. When Bane calls out his order to Unovas, you can see the gentle loving gaze they share with each other, the most exquisite sense of trust, like they're both communicating on the same wavelength the way life long best friends, brothers would communicate and even a father and son, but no you could tell there was an extra something going on. Bane and Unovas were star crossed lovers. Unovas just wanted to please Bane, as he was the submissive one in the relationship, you can tell because Bane's eyes are more hungry and Unovas eyes are more eager to be taken. All in all this scene was truly heartbreaking to watch, two lovers who have bonded all there lives, Unovas just wanted to support Bane's cause and ensure the rising of the fire, you could tell that Unovas cared more about Bane's cause than even his own life, and Bane almost started crying hysterically as he told Unovas his final mission was at hand.
