New APC isn't evolving from what it was, it sounds like an after-thought from one of its core parts. 2 different places, shoved blindly together.

^Funny, I was watching/listening to that a bit earlier today. Re-living the experience. Do wish they'd captured some of The Melvins set as well as the whole of Descending, but plenty of good things in there.

Maynard's voice sounds extremely good. Hot damn.

I'd expect Maynard is in LA more frequently than we realise.

Probs most def the Tool album. He'll talk about it at length on the podcast, BET THAT!

I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but the gist from Reddit is that nothing is "completed" but there appear to be 2-3 songs that are done instrumentally which Maynard needs to do his thing with.

That being the case, sounds like we're still a good 6 months away from them hitting the studio. I certainly have no expectation of them recording in 2017 at this stage.

Great snippet. I think Maynard is pretty upbeat about the whole thing, despite the obvious frustrations with the process. While I was never in much doubt that there would be a new Tool album, this interview definitely makes me feel like it's a more a case of "when" than "if"...
