The Grudge (WARNING: 26 years to #6?)
why didn't Maynard bust out with more duets and guest vocals before his voice went to heaven? I find people who are not even the slightest bit aware of how amazing and original his voice was asking me to play them something on a rare occasion. I have to look back pretty far. I'll pull out his live rendition of Muhammed My Friend with Tori Amos, even Passenger with Chino. Maybe the Grudge if the interested party can give Tool a chance. baffles me he never really recorded with Trent, Josh Homme or even Layne. Cornell, Vedder, anyone. pretty sad those days were missed.
Asteroids do not concern me, Admiral. I want that ship, not excuses.

he did... it's called tapeworm, just never released... also included phil anselmo, page hamilton, etc.
both potions and passive (originally called vacant at pre-emotive APC gigs) are renditions from those sessions

To me, the segues have become an integral part of the live Tool experience and I'd hate to have a show without them (as good as Bonnaroo was, I sorely missed the segues). Also as they require very little effort compared to the actual songs, I'd rather they just kept them and still added another song or two rather than swap segues out for songs.
I agree totally on this. I doubt that synth will be doing anything more than a "new" intermission. Other than the best version of Lateralus ever played, Bonnaroo was lacking in flow and didnt seem as much like an actual Tool show. Duluth a week or so earlier was a far better show. Bonnaroo will always have the best Lateralus EVER, and the Pot, though.
I think the new synth could be cool but i still do not think any new songs are going to be played on the mini tour. I will go on record that they play opiate or cold and ugly at least once.Â
How is this kind of thing even news worthy? Didn't he have a new drum he was supposed to play last time they toured that he didn't end up using? I mean cool for Danny since he has a thing for synths but unless it is going to be used for something new I can't understand why any of the fans would care. How about a video of the band working on NEW FUCKING MATERIAL?

I took Blair's post to mean that only Melbourne was an Evening with Tool.
That's not how I read it.
Members* of the band will be departing today from Los Angeles on a long flight to Australia where they will kick off a number of concerts beginning at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on Saturday, April 27. From what I've been told, this will be "AN EVENING WITH TOOL", meaning that there will be no opening band (although it is possible that a DJ could be added at the last minute).
*Maynard has already arrived down under, having traveled with Tool's manager.

Enjoy the upcoming show. Have they announced who will be opening for them in Adelaide?
No, it's and "Evening with Tool" as you well know.
It's AN Evening with Tool. Thought only Melbourne was getting that intimate experience at Laver. Looks like it is a continent wide love fest for you aussie Toolios. Wine Mixers, Adam Q & A sessions, Danny breaking out the new synth...You folks are getting the royal treatment. You might even get a brand new old intro/segue! Spiral Out man!

Yea, I read it. Thanks for quoting it. (For some reason?) It's funny that we're reading the exact same thing but getting two meanings out of it.
Anyway, what does it matter to me, right? It could be King Crimson opening for them and it wouldn't change anything for a million miles away me.

Blair fucked that all up. I suspect he is saying that all of the shows will be Tool only, but he fucked that up when he used THIS will be right after mentioning the first show at Laver Arena. That implies THAT specific show. Just a poorly written paragraph.
He should have just said that Tool are departing on their latest cash grab, once again wasting time that should be spent finishing the fucking album. Enjoy the awkward Q & A and the lack of new material. Oh, but there is a new synth that you most likely won't even notice. And there will of course be Wine and plenty of shit, I mean merchandise, for you to spend your money on.
^ Much closer to the mark imo ^

To be fair, it was written by an American.
And he said "this will be . . ." which, as I teach my kids, usually refers to ONE thing; rather than "these will be . . ."
I don't think you're wrong. I just think you're not right, either.
All thanks to that fucking wanker's shitty writing skills.

Can you go ahead and post Blair's quote again for no reason? Thanks.
And I've seen you hate on Americans various times now. Are you painting us all with the same brush? Cause you know what they say about generalizations, everyone who makes them is an asshole. Â

Ah Hellboy is just on the rag. All the Tool hate has him kinda bitter. Add to that a raging Yeast infection and that would make a bad week for anyone.

I wasn't even saying I was right and I sure wasn't hating on Tool. I was just saying that's how I interpreted what Blair wrote.
