To answer your question, the city itself is gorgeous. Beautiful beaches, national parks & Harbour, but it's filled with road raging, inconsiderate fucks that I don't particuarlly enjoy being around.. That & cold weather... Mainly the cold weather thing.. Oh & it stinks..
Yes I know that is a very broad generalisation but I spent 20 years of my life there & have become way to accustomed in the last decade to my more relaxed, warm & positive lifestyle that Cairns has to offer.. Plus ya know it smells nice.. And it's warm... Mainly the warm thing..

Nah, actually, you hit the nail on the head. I agree with everything you said. Just compared to some other cities I've been to in recent years - well, Sydney is definitely comfortable, that's for sure. And I didn't think it smelt that bad the last time I was there . . .
Sydney-style makes me laugh. Come to think of it, Aussie style in general is pretty funny. All cocky looking and cheeky for the men, and stylishly slutty for the ladies.

I'm sure compared to other cities, it smells amazing & is regarded as very friendly. Truth be told, I'm exceptionally uncultured seeing as I've never left Australia, so can't really make much comment.
I think it's just cities in general. Am a fairly relaxed bloke & love my nature so Cairns is the perfect place for me & because I grew up in Sydney, I'm always going back there to visit family (funny how that always coincides with when good bands come to Aus). So when I do I find myself in Sydney I can't but compare it to Cairns & find more reasons why I'm glad I left the place..
