I met her in a small bar after she left APC and playing with Entrance (I think). She looked nothing like any of her photos on apc's site or any promo shots I had seem before that night. Almost didn't recognize her. She was nice but you could tell she had either been on a some kind of binge.
It's been 25 years since I took out an ad in the Village Voice, formed Helmet & wrote my first Helmet song. I'm really excited to announce that in August of 2014 we will host the first ever Helmet Band Camp in Big Indian, NY with Music Masters Camps at Full Moon Resort!
I've really enjoyed conducting music/guitar master classes around the world from Tokyo to Brisbane, Los Angeles to Anchorage, Cleveland to Canberra but this camp will provide a unique opportunity for you to play with Helmet and get into how we write and arrange our songs.
We'll have large seminars as well as small group classes for guitarists, singers, bass players & drummers to explore the Helmet chord vocabulary, learn about how we approach rhythm & grooves and develop musical ideas, i.e. writing and arranging your own music.
We'll get into Helmet music theory 101 as I share my approach to playing solos & creating soundscapes for songs as well as the many movies I've played on.
Thank you for a great 25 years, I hope you can make it!

Jesus doesn't want you to bury your face in that giant pasty drugged up out of shape Argentinian ass.
You ought to know better than to fuck with Yeezus around Christmas. This is the busiest time of the year for our rap Lord and Savior, when he allows the entire world to celebrate the birth of his mind blowing musical genius and transformative footwear. But Ricky Spicer is bugging Kanye, because he wants some cash for the man-god stealing his voice from a track he recorded at age twelve back in 1969. Kanye kind of plays Spicer’s voice in his Bound 2 hit single. Now, Spicer’s suing to make Kanye stop being such a thieving dick.

Didn't click the link, but mostly because Kanye is the single most overrated person in music right now, apart from maybe Gaga ... Eat it

I've been a fan of his production for well over 10 years now and I have to agree. he is now extremely overrated. sell high, dump that stock now. below is the first song I ever heard produced by him and quickly started to follow his work.
2002, Talib Kweli - "Guerilla Monsoon Rap" (prod. by Kanye West) feat. Black Thought & Pharoahe Monch.
10. 'Awake' - Godsmack
9. 'Stabwound' - Necrophagist
8. '11th Hour' - Lamb Of God
7. 'Beast and the Harlot' - Avenged Sevenfold
6. 'Blessed Black Wings' - High On Fire
5. 'Rational Gaze' - Meshuggah
4. 'Schism' - Tool
3. 'Down With The Sickness' - Disturbed
2. 'Aerials' - System of a Down
1. 'Blood and Thunder' - Mastodon

Wow. 5, 4, and 1 are legit, the rest is garbage. Not Shirley Manson Garbage, which is garbage, but garbage garbage.

I'd back High On Fire as well. Matt Pike definitely deserves a mention on a list like this. Don't think I'd choose 'Blessed Black Wings' though.

HIGH ON FIRE need far more exposure than what they get. Heavy metal done the right way.

NEW & EXCLUSIVE MASTODON ALBUM INFO
Alright, thanks for being patient and letting me get some rest! Here’s what Brann told me about the new album last night! He gave me way more details than expected, but here’s what I can share with you:
• All of the guitar tracks for Bill and Brent have been finished and so have most of the drum tracks. Troy’s bass tracks, lyrics, and vocals are still incomplete.
• There is no song on the album that is under five minutes in length (!!!). They have nearly two hours worth of music written and are now just trying to trim the fat a little.
• Recording, which is going down in Nashville, should be done by mid-February and then mixing will take maybe another month or so. If all goes right, the new album will be released in May. http://fuckyeahmastodon.tumblr.com/

If you're a fan of dubstep, 360 and Silverchair, then it looks like your dreams may be coming true shortly.
If you're a fan of any of those things then you're an idiot.

Well....what else is he going to do with his spare time?
The guy hasn't been "relevant" (Pffffft....yeah I know, I know..) since about 2002. I'll bet even Triple J no longer play Silverchair nowadays.

I don't think Sliverchair have been relevant since Kurt Cobain killed himself.
