Based on the Stub Hub prices, I'd say worth it. If i hadn't already paid $150/ticket for Lower Bowl in STL I would be considering this.

yeah, appears they stripped out the VIP accoutrements of early access/sound check/listen to Adam and are just offering up choice (arguable if you like the visuals) seating with a swag-bag.

Just checked out the setlists, pretty happy to see
► Show Spoiler
make an appearance, always had a soft spot for that song from back in the day.

And yep, price range for that cymbal is fucking ludicrous!

In regards to both the cymbal and Lateralus price, if someone offered me $3500 for my Lateralus vinyl, I don't reckon I'd be thinking about it too long...

maybe im cheap, but i cant imagine leaving a concert early after paying ticket prices these days. even if i hated it, i would sit through it to justify the money spent. then again, i do not attend concerts that i would potentially walk out on

So after the two songs they hadn't played (before this tour) in 13+ years?

Dude's gotta be trolling.

I think the setlist for this tour is prettty, pretttty, pretty good. I've never heard No Quarter, Opiate, or Sweat live and haven't heard The Grudge since 2001. Oh, and there's that new jam. I'm dragging my girlfriend along with me this weekend on a roadtrip to the St. Louis and Nashville shows.

From watching the various clips on Youtube - there's definitely some really good ones out there, both video and audio quality-wise - I think this is the best Maynard has sounded in a long, long time. He seems to have figured something out. Maybe not necessarily for power and screaming (who needs to hear a 50+ year old guy screaming anyway?), but more with melodic phrasing, at least to my ears. He's really teasing out the underlying melodies in the tunes. This is a good thing I think for whenever the new material ... materializes. We need melodic Tool. I can't help wishing that the Opiate extension was used in a new tune instead, it has that great swinging melody, a little reminiscent of Intension mixed with the Ticks and Leeches bridge.

Previous tours i liked how he dragged out the chorus for pushit "pushing meeeee" and in flood "running awaaaaay" seemed like he was holding notes better for songs this time too (at least in San Diego ) and just really getting into it, plus being able to actually hear him clearly (volume wise) is a definite plus. Also thought to myself "why don't they up his vocals in shows when he clearly sounds amazing off the soundboard YouTube clips? " glad someone sent him the memo

They usually are, but have the set times been consistent across the dates? If so, what were they?

My perception: Close to, but never reaching 2 hours total. First night in SF, there was no countdown, and I believe Danny came out before the normal 12 min. Second night they had the full countdown. They both started and ended about the same time as I recall.

But by now, there are more than a few full show recordings of this tour that you could check if you want actual set lengths.

Yeah, it's about 1 hour 45 minutes, that includes the 12 minute intermission (which is really an encore since they only play two songs afterwards).

I should have clarified: what time do all the bands go on?

Both SF shows had 3Teets going on just a few minutes after 8 for a roughly 30 min set. No Primus of course.

The 3 shows I went to were

3Teeth - 7:15
Primus - 8:00
Tool - 9:15

Give or take 5-10 minutes.

Awesome, thank you! Just don't want to miss Primus so I need to time out dinner/drinks and all that before hand. Can't believe it's less than a week for me. Aaaaaaaaaaah.

One thing I can tell you, and just my two cents, but 3teeth was worth watching.
