Fuck yeah Mayjay!

What did he say in the middle "turn around and take my ?????" 4:17 before that lovely Adam riff that he only plays live.

Oh man, why did Charlotte get boned out of the side screens?!

What gives you the impression they did? I don't think much has changed in terms of the screens/projections from the first SF shows. In all the vids I've seen for this current tour, the layout looks identical to the shows I saw in SF.

There were no side screens at all in Charlotte. My friend went, and I was perusing Youtube videos and noticed. The arena doesn't look all that much smaller than the others, I'm wondering if it was a rigging issue or something.

Ah, that's interesting. Surprised nobody else mentioned it. Or I just missed that. The side screens add a lot, so that kinda sucks.

Maybe Junior will see this and let us know how that went down.

I looked into it bc initially my friend just said something to the effect of it being the weakest of the visual shows he'd seen from them and I thought, what? Just from pics/videos the tour has looked amazing.

Nice IEM - the drums sound great on it, and Danny is pretty much nailing everything...

Yeah, and by the time the middle of the set rolls in the bass sounds great.

Thanks, fortysixand2!

Drums really do stand out.
Does Maynard ever say 'I hear the dogs of doom a howling more''?
The drum kit, is it a lower set up on this tour?
On the floor in SF, seemed like you could seem him more easily.
And Maynard did sound more clear in the mix than past tours.

No, the drums and Maynard are on the usual platform that raises up a foot or two with the LED banner. Can't speak for SF, maybe they didn't have it since it's a small venue.

And not sure what happened in Charlotte but someone who went to Orlando said the side screens were there.

yes they had the platform in sf
i mean his drum kit, i could see Dan's face because there weren't drums walled around him.
in the past it's felt like to me, the drums hid him more. maybe i just had a better angle this time.

at the 7 min mark of this NC show, some Rosetta Stoned guitar.
Around the 1hr 06min mark, it's Maynard n
Vicarious around the 1hr 31min mark, 'catch it next time' ;)

Wow, loved listening to that IEM recording, thanks for the link! The extra synth bits in the intros to songs that I have never heard over the main speakers were insane. Adam mentioned that Tool does not play to a click track live, so I guess Danny's drums are what they all key off of and hence are mixed forward in the monitors. After listening to the Tool IEM recording posted above, I searched for more and found one for Puscifer at the same venue which does have a click track. Interesting to hear what the artists are hearing...

Then proceeded down a Google hole on IEM's & how artists like Metallica and Beyonce like their monitors mixed. The nerd in me was amazed.

Interesting fuck up during Vicarious where Maynard exclaims "what the fuck am I doing?"

^haha just gave it a listen, he was going for it! Probably was the wine singing by that point. Reminds me of a time I saw them and he messed up schism, got lost in one of the lyrics. Apologized afterwards and said something to the effect of difficult of keeping all the songs he knows in his head right, also side note did any else notice at monster mash during vicarious the weird track playback during the verse, like a ZOMBIE, into the TV...? It was like the the album version played with him singing just on those words? Anyways, glad NOLA was a blast! Just wish could've been there for it!

They've been using that for a while now I think. One of them must have the samples loaded onto a keyboard or pedal.

I believe that was either the Vegas or Tucson show in 2012 when he messed up schism. Dude straight up sang the first verse twice.
I remember that for some odd reason.
