Alice In Chains - Hollow (Single) [2012]

Alice In Chains released the first track off their new album a couple of days ago, and it's called Hollow.  Here is the Youtube lyric video:

 



 

My first thoughts after a couple of listens is that while I enjoy the music and guitar playing, I found the vocals a lyrics a little forgettable.  I'm looking forward to the new album, but I hope this is one of the weaker tracks from it.

It is clearly AIC being AIC.  I dig it, but I hear what you're saying about the lyrics.  Not bad, but a little generic maybe. The vocals sound great, not sure what you find forgettable specifically.  Excellent harmonies as usual, with some interesting inflections.  It's just not very adventurous and could have easily fit on Black Gives Way To Blue.  I hope they have at least a couple of really standout tracks to dig in to, but this is not bad at all.
