Random Tool Social Media thread
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Fuck!!! Do I want to spend $400 on a 3rd row ticket. Out of all those bands I have only seen Tool and Primus live. Yes, I can buy a lawn ticket for $50, but that lawn holds 30k and I want to be close. More credit card debt might have to be the answer. Also going to a show by myself doesn't sound to fun though.

How the hell does Clutch get billed ahead of Fantomas and Melvins? I got a free ticket to a show a couple years ago and still left early. Am I missing something?
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Pure ticket/sales numbers is usually the answer.fortysixand2 wrote:How the hell does Clutch get billed ahead of Fantomas and Melvins? I got a free ticket to a show a couple years ago and still left early. Am I missing something?

Dude, if I didn't already have seats I'd totally go with you. There are those two tickets in Orchestra 2, Row K going for $365 each (a bit steep), but there are about 150 tickets up on StubHub throughout Orchestra 2 - starting at $200 each. Hate supporting scumbag scalpers, but sometimes that compromise might have to be made for Tool.the chill wrote:Fuck!!! Do I want to spend $400 on a 3rd row ticket. I totally understand what you are saying. I'm planning on going to the Hamilton Ontario show the day after Rochester but I don't yet have a ticket. Stub Hub has tickets 7th row center for 215 after fees.

Get Meshuggah on this bill (I know, asking a lot) and it'll be better than probably any summer festival this year.
Not a huge fan of any of the openers but the people attending are getting their money's worth for sure. Enjoy.

It's pretty much a dream lineup. I think you need to reassess your taste in music!Krazy_blah wrote: Not a huge fan of any of the openers but the people attending are getting their money's worth for sure. Enjoy.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Well, this is awesome. Clutch is fucking terrific.
But that said, I doubt this is what TOOL had planned this whole time. To my knowledge, there's no history between the two bands, and Clutch tours enough that seeing them live is not exactly a special event. Seems like they wanted to get a huge act and couldn't get the scheduling to work out, so they just had to settle for a reasonably big name at the last minute. And since Clutch is already touring with Primus, they were the easy answer.
Whatever the reasoning, I'm pumped. Three of my favorite all-time bands on the same day. I hope there's some Cinquanta-style intermingling between all the groups, but even if they each just play a regular set, I'll be happy.

Sounds like Fantomas will be Dale Crover instead of Dave Lombardo this time around.

TOOL add CLUTCH and a rare performance by FANTOMAS (MIKE PATTON, BUZZ OSBORNE, TREVOR DUNN & DALE CROVER) to the SOCAL SHOW on JUNE 24.

Dale has played with Fantomas plenty of times, so I'm sure it'll still be a great show. I'd rather see them with Dave as well, but given how infrequent Fantomas shows are, anything is good!

Buzz's Dale

I've seen them with him playing before, and it was just fine.UndKeineZwEier wrote:I like Dale but that's kind of a switch
Dale is one of my favorite drummers, though.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Hey Junior,
Do you have a favorite Tool song? How about a favorite Tool song while you're working a tour, as in while you're lighting it during a show?
Thanks!

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Yeah nothing against Dave Lombardo, but I'm almost rather see Dale drum. Dale is one of the greatest drummers I've seen, pound for pound. (although some of Fantomas' songs kind of demand Lombardo's blast beats).
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Apparently there's been an update to Toolband.com. All I'm getting at the moment is 'Error 404' though.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I'm seeing a new website layout, at least on mobile browser.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I'm getting the 404 also. Reddit is saying there a new Tool logo on the updated site.nxrm wrote:Apparently there's been an update to Toolband.com. All I'm getting at the moment is 'Error 404' though.
So that's it, Lateralus 2 will be out by the time they hit the stage in Fairfax.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Whoa, yep, new site. Logo is not new, and it's funny that 10000 Days is still not listed under releases. Also, your post was number 20000 on this board.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Allll broken and whatnot on my end. They'll probably have it sorted next month some time.
