Two of my friends posted it on fb as if it confirmed their expectations of a double album. I was pretty amused by all of it. But who knows? With all this time they should have enough material for three albums!

A double album wouldn't be a huge shock. That it's released in Fall 2016 and has those absurd song titles would be.

Maynard has already called it #dumb, and I think that's a pretty accurate assessment.

I doubt the new album has song titles like what was in that fake. Maynard is beyond the lateralus days. The esoteric, third eye, etc. that they used to allude to. I think we're likely to get titles similar to recent puscifer stuff. Generally more common words, straightforward.

I don't care about the song titles. Only music matters.

I'd like a new Tool song titled "Nuthin' But Dem Titties". Something proper for a strip club, cause asking for a Third Eye at them places is kind of weird.

I'm not expecting much wordplay this time around either. I'm still thinking they have done way more than they've led on, too many contradicting statements from the band. It's the hopeful part of me, but I wouldn't be surprised if everything except the track listing was true.

My feelings as well. Song titles, bogus. Fall release, trolling. Double album, possible. The whole post and lame story about tool mixing the album, dumb.

Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan himself has now addressed the rumors on Twitter… sort of. And the upshot is: we still don’t know! His one-word response is seemingly a not-so-veiled attack on Tool fans — who he once called “insufferable” — but, this being Tool, he could well be taking the piss and putting this out into the world as a ruse.

Anyone else take is as an attack on them? I thought the tweet was squarely aimed at the media outlets that reported the "news"

Maybe it was an attack on the fan who made up the nonsense. In which case, it was deserved.

I think he saw the rumor come up in his mentions and thought it was dumb so he replied "#dumb".
