In one of the more bizarre things I've seen recently, it appears Danny will be lending his voice to the coming animated comedy Free Birds:

(Beverly Hills, Calif.) June 5, 2013 – Relativity and Reel FX announced today that they have cast Hispanic radio personality Eddie ‘Piolin’ Sotelo (Ice Age: Continental Drift), drummer for the world-renowned rock band Tool Danny Carey and Australian actor Josh Lawson (The Campaign) as the newest voice over talent in their upcoming animated comedy Free Birds, helmed by Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears A Who!). The film is jointly produced and financed by Relativity and Reel FX and is set for wide theatrical release in 2D and 3D on November 1, 2013.

Here's the full press release.

Not sure what part Danny will play in the movie, but his voice is not really one that springs to mind when I hear voice actor...

This is definitely one of the better non-TOOL music-related stories I've ever heard about any person associated with the band.

Wait this movie comes out in five months, and they're just casting now?

He's a probably a bit role then. I doubt they would cast him as a lead this late in the process.

The Rock HAS COME BACK TO....

I have no reaction to this news.  Good for him?  Yea, good for him.  He seems like a cool fella.

It's an animated movie, voicing it would take 2 weeks, tops

The lengths these guys will go to to get out of writing an album.

I expect next week we'll hear about how Justin is starring in the next series of The Apprentice

So, the question no one is asking is this: How, exactly, did this happen?

Did he smoke a bunch of DMT one night, come-to, then go, "You know what I need to do? Voice-acting for kids movies."

Who did he approach? Who approached him?

Whichever way you look at it, this is fucking awesome.

Literal LOL. Well done.

And I would pay good money to see Mr Synaesthesia on "THE APPRENTICE". Good fucking money.

I assume it was a hook-up.  Danny knows a lot of people.  In LA.  Something like this was bound to happen.  Kinda surprising it took this long, huh?

Not really sure they've gone away since their last album (which actually wasn't as bad as you might think).  Last I heard there was a new album out sometime later this year.

I'm sure you know I was joking, but I really didn't know any of this.

It's weird to me now that back in the day I used to think there couldn't be a more annoying band that Limp Bizkit...

But oh boy, did bands like Creed, Kings of Leon, Nickelback, Linkin Park etc. etc. prove me wrong.

Yes I know Creed and Linkin Park were big around the same time as LB but to the best of my memory LB was around (or popular at least) a bit before both.

'Fred Durst Interracial Gang Bang' to be precise, one of those movies was the result as was this:

Pretty good film, 7/10, Peanut Untouchable gave a performance of a lifetime, I could really feel his pain

Limp Bizkit have some listenable tracks at least, mainly due to Wes Borland being a pretty good guitarist.  Creed, Kings of Leon, Staind, Linkin Park - all that shit is unlistenable to me.  Kings Of Leon as well, but I wouldn't really put them in the same category tbh.

If the studio were a gym

Danny would rock the rim

So you like Kings of Leon?  Legit question not trying to be a dick or anything.
