I saw these guys perform last night.... GREAT show!

They really sounded good and were into the performance. Omar was freaking on it and enjoying himself. Some talented musicians in this group. Deantoni amazes me with his drums and keyboard playing.

The show had lots of energy complete with small spanish interludes between songs. I was surprised at how small the crowd was at the venue.... only MAYBE 100 people there! Made it an intimate affair for sure.

Highly recommended - - Go see them~

Sister Crayon was pretty good as well and worth a listen.

Hey Basejumper,

This is definitely my favorite album of 2013 and I can listen to it over and over.  This music is Just Beautiful.

I'm in Tucson and they haven't played here or in Phoenix.  I was really going to try to go to San Diego for their June 24th show, but couldn't spend all that money just for a concert.

And yes, Deantoni is Fucking Amazing!  Anyways, I'm glad you were able to catch one of their shows.

Let's stay on topic please.  No need to turn every thread into a collection of politically incorrect one liners.

My apologies.

Anyone care to recommend where to start with these guys? I'm vaguely interested.

You should start with Bosnian Rainbows, the one and only album they've released.

I was not aware of that, and for this, I thank you.

Thanks for the link, brother.

Wow, totally not for me. Well, I've learnt something again.

^ Agreed.  I will go a step further.  It is fucking horrible.  No surprise that Omar from The Mars Volta (the second most overrated band of all time behind Radiohead) is involved.  For a guy that has musical talent he has shit taste in music.

I say this in all honesty because I know, personally, I dislike volta, a lot.  I don't really care for his solo stuff apart for a few tracks and shit, I even think the nostalgic 'at the drive-in' love is pathetic, cuz they never did it for me either.  All that said, I gave this a listen and enjoy it quite a bit.  This album literally had everything against it from my perspective and it's still a winner.

Although, I'm sure a bit of same-y sounding prog wankery mixed in could have made it much better!

It was probably the worst thing I've heard all year.

I'm not exaggerating.

Fair enough.  I guess you missed all the reviews and posts I made where I gave things moderate reviews.  I do it quite often.

You're a grindcore fan. That pretty much makes any opinion of any music you may have completely worthless.

That is Hellboy's classic go to dig.  Apparently HE also missed a number of moderate reviews I gave during the first round of our Listening Club experiment.  In FACT, I succinctly remember giving his LARD pick a moderate and fair review.  Not an album that worked for me but one that I wouldn't call horrible.  Selective memory is Hellboy's M.O. though so it doesn't really surprise me.

Don't worry - just remember that your word is infallible and should never be challenged, and you should be good to go.

Nah, I'll leave that MO to the likes of Mog and Califum. My words should always be challenged - no one should be afraid to do that.

Poor Cal.  Not even here and his boy is talking shit about him.  It's okay Cal, you will always be my favorite hipster.
