Went on a bit of a Joe Preston bender today, and I've never really been able to find out who did vocals for his first two albums. It wasn't him - I know his voice.
Any help?

I would strongly suggest "SPERM WHALE/WHITE RABBIT". You'll see it in JBHIFI et al as just your typical "MOBY DICK" kind of cover. It's excellent.
That's the cover to look for, by the way.
Even when he was a MELVIN, he was pretty well known for being a bit far out there - even more so than Rutmanis.
It's tough to get any of his stuff through tangible means (though he's one of the few artists who I make a point of doing), so you might have to go to "the underworld". (And even then, he's not well represented).
This: http://www.amoeba.com/cerberic-doxology ... ms/859991/ is also unfuckingbelievable. The number of times I've listened to this in an aircraft would make us both wonder. It's basically just him humming for forty minutes. Great stuff. Impossible to get; get your eyepatch.
Bottom line is that Joe Preston is fucking incredible. HARVEY MILK fans know what I'm saying.

YES. Joe Preston is a beast. I like "Day Late, Dollar Short" but have never heard "Sperm Whale." Thanks for the recommendation Boss!
