***EDIT: Original thread separated into 5 threads to make it less confusing.
A few months back, I got extremely bored one day and decided to try and come up with my own personal top 10 list of musicians at each instrument commonly found in a rock band. I kinda figured that this had probably been a topic in the past, but I couldn't find any similar threads. Since Hellboy decided to post his top 10 Tool songs, I figured now would be as good of a time as any to put this out there for discussion. I tried my best to make my list as objective as possible, but in all honesty it probably ended up about 50% objective, 50% subjective (and even that might be an underestimation). Anyways, here it is:
Keyboards/Synth (For good measure...)
1.) Keith Emerson - Emerson, Lake and Palmer
2.) Jordan Rudess - Dream Theater
3.) Tony Banks - Genesis
4.) Rick Wright - Pink Floyd
5.) Elton John
6.) Rick Wakeman - Yes
7.) Ray Charles
8.) Stevie Wonder
9.) Richard Barbieri - Porcupine Tree
10.) Geddy Lee - Rush
And there you have it. Feel free to add any categories you think should be included. I'm looking forward to seeing what other people have to say.
