OK, so what's coming out (music wise) in 2013. Pffffft yeah Tool (ho hum)...but what else? I'm searching around and can't find much so I'll break it down to what is confirmed (very little) and what I anticipate will (hopefully eventually) make an appearance sometime this year.
And it goes something like this:
Confirmed new albums for 2013 that I am eager for
Flaming Lips - The Terror
Autechre - Exai
My Bloody Valentine - TBA
Yo La Tengo - Fade
Black Sabbath - TBA
Grouper - The Man Who Died In His Boat
Melvins - TBA
Prurient - Through The Window
Anticipated:
(artists I hope will drop a bomb of some sort this year...but probably won't..)
Aphex Twin
Tool
Secret Chiefs 3
Sunn O)))
Cynic
Godflesh
Massive Attack
yeah. slim pickings indeed!

I just got a notice saying one of my topics had been moved here.  That doesn't appear to be true.
It is true, as I moved this from Inifinty to the Music forum.
On topic: There's really only a small group of bands I follow religiously enough for me to create a most anticipated list from (that and my failing memory). Â I don't have much to add to the above lists but here goes:
Tomahawk
Living Colour
Dillinger Escape Plan
M.T.void
QOTSA
Volto!
Yob
Palms
Shellac
Hydromedusa
Animals As Leaders
Deltron
Pearl Jam

Solid list HB... replace with Bowie and Steven Wilson and that would just about cover the list I could come up with off the top of my head. Â Also, Lanegan is working on a new one but I'm not sure of any due date

Random question about Steven Wilson/Porcupine Tree that I couldnt figure out from his wiki: He is to PT what Trent Reznor is to NIN, correct?
So what's the difference between his solo stuff and PT? (Something I've always wondered about Trent and the couple of songs he's released under his actual name)

Hey! Denty!
@ Ravenpig - (Ha.  Read this write as Open Car from Deadwing came up on shuffle *`) Â
My take: Â I would say in the early days of PT that would be a valid comparison. Â Over the past decade or so, it has been a much more collaborative effort. Â While SW writes the lion's share of the lyrics, the rest of the band contributed a significant amount of the music and it has been a band, not a solo project with hired hands. Â John Wesley is the only exception, as he is basically covering Steven's studio overdub guitars and harmony vocals live.
Steven's first two solo discs were a bunch of (excellent) hired hands coming in and playing their written parts. Â I hear Raven will be much more collaborative, so interested to hear some evidence of that direction.
Steven always works with the best, and is a prolific producer, musician and engineer. Â Mind bogglingly so.

@ Ravenpig - Yes, exactly.  Now, granted, Steven is keeping much of the personnel between the 2nd and 3rd solo albums intact, but he'll rotate people in and out depending on the situation because it's clearly defined as his solo album.  For example, 3 different guitarists on 3 different legs of the tour, (and the next album has Guthrie Govan who is an absolute monster)  PT has had a drummer change quite a while ago, and as I mentioned, augmented with Wesley, but largely its been the same core unit for quite some time and they are all credited with writing on the albums.
@ Crow - what's your favorite Bjork? Â I've been getting into her earliest stuff lately. Â I didn't really get her until long after that material came out. Â Really like her now.
