In light of that Dave Grohl story Buzz told, this is pretty amusing. There may be a follow up after this festival.

Been hitting "This Machine Kills Artists" hard for the last couple of days. That and AAL. Strange combination, but loving it.

Reflecting on seeing Buzz solo, and so glad I motivated my lazy ass to drive up to SF on a Sunday night... knowing Monday morning was going to suck with a 5:30 wake up... very much worth it.

Don't miss him if you get a chance, I have a feeling this won't happen again anytime soon.

Description MR. BUNGLE

this is a straight reseed of a lossless version since I believe a few people wanted a lossless after the lossy version(never deleted for some reason knowing its lossy) was found out.

INFO

Setlist -

01. 3rd Floor Dungeon
02. Everyone I Went To High School With Is Dead
03. Parents Were Little Once Too
04 Dead Goon
06. Time
07. The Thing Strikes
08. Travolta
09. Thunderball
10. I Don't Need Society
11. Citta Violenta
12. The Thrill Is Gone
13. The Stroke
14. My Ass Is On Fire

This recording is not the complete show. The taper was busted after he put a fresh tape in after My Ass Is On Fire so there is no encore.

The Melvins were in town the day of the show so Mr. Bungle asked if they would join the bill that evening. Rumor has it they made an agreement that if the Melvins were accepted by the fans then Bungle would play all of their "hits". If not, Bungle would punish the audience.

Needless to say, the Melvins were booed and chants of "Bungle...Bungle...Bungle" reverberated throughout the venue.

Bungle punished the audience. This recording is evidence of that.

As a side note - this has my favorite performance of Everyone I Went To High School With Is Dead - blistering! I love this show!

Special thanks to G.G. the taper for giving me his master tape and to Mike Ziegler for doing the cassette to digital transfer. Mike is looking for anyone that has recorded Nirvana or knows people that recorded them. Please email any Nirvana taper info to Mike@mikeziegler.com

I did no EQ'ing or normalizing to this - the only thing I did was trim the silence where the tape flip occurs. I think it sounds fantastic as is.

"This Machine Kills Artists" gets better with each listen.

The CD packaging is understated, but stylish. All around great release.

Definitely bummed I didn't get a chance to catch a show when he was nearby.

Melvins Enlist A Few Butthole Surfers For New Album “Hold It In”
A new Melvins album titled “Hold It In” is on course for an October release. Such is the case from recent releases from the outfit, it appears a unique lineup will be featured upon that outing. Both Jeff Pinkus and Paul Leary of Butthole Surfers fame will reportedly be playing throughout the effort. Some touring with that lineup is also apparently being booked.

The good news is, I get to simply stroll down the street and see them and DON'T have to brave fucking Voodoo Fest just for my Melvins fix. Bad news is, still no double-drum foursome album. Booooooooo hissssssssss. I'm sure this will kick-ass just the same.

It wouldn't surprise me if there are more dates added, though they will probably skip those towns just to piss you off.

Who knows, but I find it odd that they stop without doing anything on the East Coast or out Chicago way.

Hopefully they can find their way to an even deeper south sometime soon.

The core of the Earth?!

That would be pretty badass, but I don't think they would be able to afford it. Seems like it would be pretty expensive.

Exactly. MELVINS are primarily a touring band, right. I suspect this would be a world tour.

If they play the same venue I saw EARTH at here, I will fucking cum in my pants on the day tickets go on sale.

If you're at the North pole and you want to get to the South pole you could go straight through the Earth. I don't know, it's just a joke.
