Russian Circles to support Tool in UK

Thanks to the Tool Hotline who tell me that Chicago band Russian Circles will be supporting Tool on the three UK dates on the upcoming tour.  Sounds like they got the job because Isis, Pelican and These Arms Are Snakes weren’t available, that and Justin Chancellor seemed to like their music.  Check out how they got the gig in this Drowned In Sound interview, then go and have a listen… Read More »Russian Circles to support Tool in UK

Adam in Guitar World

I had a chance to read the recent Guitar World article with Adam Jones, and it’s one of the best Tool articles I’ve read for a while.  It reveals plenty of new info and some insight into Adam’s guitar playing.  Here are some points I know most of you are interested in: The first video for 10,000 Days (presumably Vicarious) will be entirely in CGI has run into some “vicious… Read More »Adam in Guitar World

Poll Results: Is it cool to wear a Tool shirt at a Tool concert?

Well, it seems that the majority of you don’t care what people wear to Tool concerts, and that there is in fact nothing wrong with wearing a Tool shirt to a Tool show.  Unsurprisingly the second largest group of voters feel that it is uncool to wear a Tool shirt.  I’m not sure that I’ve seen any clear reasoning behind this, but I suspect they were all once teased a… Read More »Poll Results: Is it cool to wear a Tool shirt at a Tool concert?

Justin “I would never be worthy”

Justin speaks to The Detroit News about their upcoming show, and talked about some events that happened around the time he replaced Paul:  “When I joined the band, I got a couple of nasty letters from people who were upset to lose Paul,” says Chancellor, 36, about replacing original bass player Paul D’Amour in 1995.  “I got one written in blood telling me that I would never be worthy. That… Read More »Justin “I would never be worthy”

“Sooner Than Later”

Justin Chancellor had a chat with the Launch Radio Networks the other day and he had this to say: “Honestly, I don’t know,” he said. “We’re in the second year of this tour already and it won’t be long before people have said it’s five years already. If we finish touring by, say, next January or February, once we’ve taken a little time off, it’s almost unavoidable that it’s gonna… Read More »“Sooner Than Later”

It won’t go down!

According to the Puscifer Myspace site: Finishing up the tracks. Should be mixing with Alan Moulder by August and hopefully have the whole thing out by mid October. Joe Barresi mixed the first song, for which we’re making a video. And I’ve recorded a new version of Cuntry Boner which Joe will also be mixing. Most likely I’ll be releasing Cuntry Boner as a cd single with some bonus tracks.… Read More »It won’t go down!

Adam Jones at Shred School

The Tool Hotline tell me that Adam Jones will be taking part in the Shred School event held at the Millenium Biltmore Hotel in LA on the 4th of August.  Guitarists and Tool fans would be crazy not to go. As a side note, the Millenium Biltmore is where my wife and I stayed on our honeymoon!
