Newsletters

Blair has posted the May and June Newsletters, both of which I’m sure are elaborate hoaxs to put you off the scent of the hoax-hoax album that will be coming out in Smarch.

CoSM, Drum Magazine

According the the recent CoSM Newsletter I received, Alex Grey will be at the Burning Man festival this year.  One of the features of his display will be the Sacred Mirror banners that Tool used on their Lateralus tour. Bastardometer from Toolarmy tells me that Danny will be featured in the new Drum Magazine.  The magazine will also feature tabs(?) for Vicarious on drums.

US Tour announcement imminent? Roskilde sells out.

Bob2884 (and several others) from Toolarmy have said that they overheard on the radio, that Tool will be making a huge announcement regarding the US tour later this year on Monday.  There also seems to be a new concert in Fresno, California on August 6 as well.    Looks like Tool might be squeezing in a few US (California only?) dates before heading off to Japan. In other tour news, I… Read More »US Tour announcement imminent? Roskilde sells out.

Tool Setlist from London

Menkimati from Toolarmy sent me this setlist he picked up from the recent London show.  Enjoy! There’s also a coupe of posts on Toolband/Army today from Blair, one outlining Danny’s Synth collection, and another confirming a date in Amsterdam on June 27th.  From memory this Amsterdam date has been floating around for a while, though nice to get confirmation.

Maynards Dreams

There’s an exclusive post on Toolarmy, supposedly discussion some dreams Maynard has been having lately.  In the spirit of reading too much into things, I’m going to suggest that the 24th of July is a date to watch. Here’s an excerpt for you non-TAers: I was in an old school vintage arcade playing Mr Do with David Hasslehoff and Leonard Nimoy. (I think I was drinking Dekuyper’s Spearmint Schnapps out… Read More »Maynards Dreams

World Cup Fever

Just in time for the 2006 World Cup, Yahoo interview Justin about his thoughts on England’s chances this time around.  Nothing about Tool in the interview though, but interesting anyway.  Go Australia!

Jack Marx on Tool

There’s an interesting post by Jack Marx from the Sydney Morning Herald on the web at the moment, where he talks about his treatment during the Tool press tour of Australia in February 2006.  Seems like he was a little hard done by, but then again, since when is being a journalist and easy and predictable job.  I’m sure Tool aren’t the only ones out there a little funny in… Read More »Jack Marx on Tool

Article + Les

Blksun on Toolarmy sent me some scans of a recent Tool article in Classic Rock UK magazine.  Here’s some links for your enjoyment: https://www.fourtheye.net/images/cl-rock/toolscan1.jpg https://www.fourtheye.net/images/cl-rock/toolscan2.jpg https://www.fourtheye.net/images/cl-rock/toolscan3.jpg https://www.fourtheye.net/images/cl-rock/toolscan4.jpg https://www.fourtheye.net/images/cl-rock/toolscan5.jpg I also found a brief interview with Les Claypool, where he talks about his new solo album “Of Whales and Woe”, Primus recording next year and his desire to follow through with the Adrian Belew and Danny Carey project.  Hopefully this may… Read More »Article + Les

Luxemborg Pictures

Tape on Toolnavy posted a couple of links to galleries of pictures from the recent Luxemborg show.  Some great pics there, including my favorites:   http://gallery.rockhal.lu/tool?page=1 http://www.eldoradio.lu/events/eventpics/index.php?show=overview&tcategory_id=923

Danny speaks to Rhythm UK

Steve emailed me today with a couple of bits from a recent Rhythm UK magazine.  Steve says “It’s a good interview, typed out a couple excerpts, the article goes on to say that the drum tracks were recorded in a studio normally reserved for movie soundtracks, his new setup, the writing process and his influences.” Is there any song on 10,000 Days that was more interesting or challenging to play… Read More »Danny speaks to Rhythm UK
