Evidence points to Tool in Australia 2020

Quick post this morning, with Aussie tour promoters Frontier Touring dropping so not so subtle hints that Tool will be announcing shows for February 2020 in about 10 days time. There’s a social media competition as well, so get onboard and feel the hype! Looks like dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Auckland. Sucks to be from Adelaide 🙁 but I guess I wouldn’t rule a show out yet.

It’s a pretty interesting chat with Maynard actually, touching quite a bit on the writing process behind Tool‘s latest album Fear Inoculum: “Every song is from either my perspective or the perspective of an empath speaking for a friend or a group of people,” explains Keenan… Read More »Maynard speaks with LA Weekly

Justin speaks to Bass Guitar

In another excellent interview, Justin Chancellor talks about Tool with the UK edition of Bass Guitar magazine. He talks about the writing process, his use of various different basses and effects to achieve the sounds you hear on Fear Inoculum. Perhaps most interesting is discussion of a signature Crybaby wah pedal: I’m also developing a signature Crybaby wah pedal with Dunlop. It’s going to combine two different character wahs with… Read More »Justin speaks to Bass Guitar

Danny claims Tool have tons of material

Well known Tool optimist Danny Carey has claimed in a recent interview with Metal Hammer that the band have plenty of material ready for a new album, which I’m sure will be out sometime this decade: My hope is we get in and knock out another record. We have tons of material. It’s not going to take 12 years, or if it does, I’ll probably be so old I probably can’t pick… Read More »Danny claims Tool have tons of material

Justin Chancellor on Striking A Chord

There’s a ton of good Tool content out there at the moment, lots of which I’m yet to post here on Fourtheye. I’m slowly catching up but the one that has caught my eye this evening is Evan Ball speaking will Tool bassplayer Justin Chancellor on the new Striking A Chord podcast. It’s a pretty great interview, very open conversation with Justin as he takes us through the days pre-Tool,… Read More »Justin Chancellor on Striking A Chord

The second coming of Fear Inoculum

I was having a chat with one of my sources today (in this case a quite reliable one) who felt the urge to have me relay the following onto the rabid Tool fanbase out there: Don’t go spending hundreds on eBay chasing after a limited copy of Fear Inoculum – there are more being printed. No word on when this might be, but I’d expect relatively soon. If you’re like… Read More »The second coming of Fear Inoculum
