Tool & Dave Matthews Band to play Harriet Island Music Festival

In a post that makes me wonder if April Fools Day has come early, it’s alleged on a couple of websites that Tool and the Dave Matthews Band will be headlining the inaugural Harriet Island Music Festival in Minnesota. And here I go thinking Minnesota was an inland state! The festival apparently takes place on the 23rd and 24th of June with Tool to play on the 23rd. Not sure… Read More »Tool & Dave Matthews Band to play Harriet Island Music Festival

Meshuggah’s Sinews Give Us Slow Motion Headbanging

Sick of me posting about Meshuggah yet? Too bad. Here’s an Official Video from the lead song of their just released Koloss Break Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion: Koloss is great by the way, and well worth checking out! You can still listen to the whole thing legally here. Actually you can’t, the web page still works, however the songs have since been removed. I’m sure they’re all… Read More »Meshuggah’s Sinews Give Us Slow Motion Headbanging

As Blair promised, Danny has featured in the latest Paiste Magazine, where he talks about a range of drumming, Volto! and Tool topics: So, you guys are back in writing mode right now? Yes…Justin, Adam & I are working on some stuff and Maynard will join us in another month or so, once he finished up with his ‘other band’. March 2012 Tool Newsletter published

Just noticed on Toolband a moment ago that the Tool March Newsletter for 2012 has just been published. There’s a range of stuff in it, though not much detail about the new Tool album, mainly as I expect there isn’t really much to say except they’re working on it! More interesting are details on the new Volto! album: In Tool-related news (see the difference?), mark your calendar that VOLTO! will… Read More »March 2012 Tool Newsletter published

Caduceus to be featured on Hollywood and Vines TV show

I was doing my usual Tool news trawling this morning, and came across this article today, which hinted at Maynard being featured on a TV show called Hollywood and Vines.  After a bit of searching I discovered this was indeed the case and Maynard’s Caduceus Cellars should feature in the first episode of Season Three: Year Three starts with a big bang. Michael Buble headlines an intimate outdoor concert at… Read More »Caduceus to be featured on Hollywood and Vines TV show

Leftover Tool Tour Posters on Toolband, Volto! approaches

nudges710 posted in the forums a little while ago that there are a bunch of leftover 2012 Tool Tour posters in the Toolband shop.  The posters available are from the Uncasville, Charlotte and Florida shows, and are $29.99 each plus postage.  Personally the one from Uncasville is one of my favorites from the tour!  No word on how many are available, or if there will be other shows released at… Read More »Leftover Tool Tour Posters on Toolband, Volto! approaches

Adam providing art for new Volto album?

As most of you know by now, Danny’s other band Volto! have recorded a new album, which hopefully should be released soon.  A post on the Volto Facebook page today suggests that someone we know may be helping out with the artwork: artwork direction adam j Not sure exactly what this entails, or if it’s the right Adam, so keep your eye peeled for further info! Speaking of Volto! don’t… Read More »Adam providing art for new Volto album?

Vic Firth Signature Artist: Danny Carey

Finally something for Tool fans can get their teeth into.  Danny Carey is the spotlight artist for Vic Firth, and they’ve published a great video interview on which Danny talks about pretty much everything, including a plan to be in the studio by June/July.  The videos also feature some great drum cam footage: Thanks to sublime5446 for the tip

Maynard on the Standard Ass Rock Show

I read on Blabbermouth today about an interview Maynard has given with Carl Sundberg of the Standard Ass Rock Show on Oregon radio station KFLY.  Surprisingly the questioning isn’t as douchebaggy as I’ve come to expect from US radio.  Here’s a quote regarding music downloads and it’s effect on the industry: I think it’s a much bigger conversation. I think part of the problem with most of that is just… Read More »Maynard on the Standard Ass Rock Show
