Legend of the Seagullmen debut with Primus

The Legend of the Seagullmen, a band featuring Danny Carey, as well as Brent Hinds from Mastodon will play it’s debut show at the Primus NYE Party in San Francisco later this year.  Going by social media posts recently it sounds like they’ve been recording as well, so expect some news on an album sometime eventually. Primus will return to the Fox Theater in Oakland for a Goblin New Years… Read More »Legend of the Seagullmen debut with Primus

Listen to The Doomed by A Perfect Circle

As expected A Perfect Circle have dropped their new single today entitled The Doomed.  You can listen to it via the Youtube clip below. Personally, I think it’s alright – certainly the best thing they’ve released since Thirteenth Step.  Will be interesting to see how the rest of the album sounds.  Certainly has a couple of Puscifer-like moments, which is not entirely unexpected, but it chugs along nicely. What do… Read More »Listen to The Doomed by A Perfect Circle

A Perfect Circle tease new single and songs on tour

We’ve had a couple of posts from the Perfect Circle social media camp the last few days, suggestion that things are in motion for new songs this tour, putting further weight behind the claims an album is in the works. First up was a post the other day from Maynard suggesting he had some new songs to work on for the coming APC dates: Stepping away from @caduceuscellars Bunker &… Read More »A Perfect Circle tease new single and songs on tour

Weekly Update 11-Sept-2017

Things are moving so slowly in Tool land at the moment, I’ve run out of material (and motivation) for regular posts.  So while Tool are in stealth mode (likely for the rest of the year I expect) rather than bombarding you with with stuff that is only somewhat interesting, I’ll do a weekly update.  This update will include Tool related stuff, relevant side projects, and even a few updates from… Read More »Weekly Update 11-Sept-2017

Justin’s custom pedal & A Perfect Circle tickets

There’s no real Tool news at the moment (nor will there be for some time I suspect) so we have to make do with some news that is only kinda interesting, depending on what floats your boat. Anyway, what floats my boat are guitar pedals, and Justin Chancellorr has a fancy custom version of one by boutique pedal vendor KHDK Electronics.  It’s based on their overdrive pedal called Abyss, and has some… Read More »Justin’s custom pedal & A Perfect Circle tickets

Danny confirms that Tool remasters are in the works?

On Reddit the other day some chap called cptsweatpantz decided to start an online petition to get Tool to re-release their albums on vinyl.  A noble suggestion, however was met with the usual cries of “online polls don’t do shit!” – something I agree with despite signing anyway. Lo and behold the creator of the petition receives an email from Danny Carey (screenshot of which is below) in which he… Read More »Danny confirms that Tool remasters are in the works?
