Adam confirms new Tool album is moving towards completion

Adam undertook some more Instagram live streaming yesterday, and while it wasn’t some live cuts from the Loft, it did include a comment that the “Music is done.  Lyrics are coming in hard“.  Great news that the new Tool album seems to be on the home stretch. Danny also spoke with Overdrive about the new Legends of the Seagullmen album, and once more suggested that things were happening in Tool-land:… Read More »Adam confirms new Tool album is moving towards completion

Danny speaks with Kerrang

In a recent interview with Kerrang magazine, Danny Carey spoke about Legends of the Seagullmen as well as a slightly more in depth update on the new Tool album.  There are no particularly insightful revelations, and Danny does joke around with 2018 and 2019 a bit, which suggest to me maybe he’s not super confident of it being this year (though he does go on to reaffirm it will be… Read More »Danny speaks with Kerrang

Another Danny Carey update on new Tool album

There’s another update from Danny Carey in regards to the new Tool album floating around, and this is courtesy of Drum Magazine: “It’s gonna be really good,” he said. “We’re really excited about it. We’re getting really close, too. We’re probably going to write the rest of this year and then start tracking early in the new year. So, it’ll be out some time in 2018.” Good news it seems,… Read More »Another Danny Carey update on new Tool album

Maynard talks Tool and other things with Joe Rogan

Maynard James Keenan spoke with Joe Rogan on his podcast this week, and covers a range of the usual topics you’d expect – wine making, fighting, discipline, the music industry, his love for cross-stitching and of course, Tool.  As with Maynard’s other chats with Rogan, it’s an interesting listen, and great to hear him speak in a more relaxed, between friends manner than the usual defensive style taken with clickbait… Read More »Maynard talks Tool and other things with Joe Rogan

Justin discusses the new album with Metal Sucks

Metal Sucks have today published a Podcast which contains a 10 minute interview with Justin Chancellor, where he talks about progress on the new Tool album, and their love of playing live.  While the interview is short on much concrete information, Justin does mention that he believes the new album is about 90% done.  He declined to give any indication of when it would be released though. It’s an insightful… Read More »Justin discusses the new album with Metal Sucks

Adam talks about the San Bernadino not-festival

Adam Jones from Tool recently had a chat with Kelli from the Orange County Register, in which he discussed a few things about the current tour and upcoming San Bernadino show.  He suggests that they’re still working on the album (though doesn’t give any clues as to when it’ll be done), and that the coming San Bernadino show isn’t a festival! “We’re not using the ‘F-word’ on this – you know,… Read More »Adam talks about the San Bernadino not-festival

Tool April 2017 Newsletter

The April 2017 Tool newsletter is out, and it pretty much reinforced the previous post where Danny hoses down album speculation: WTF!!! Are you serious? How in the world could anyone – even the most desperate Tool enthusiast make such an incredible leap? I’ve received email over the years from people who have included a 20 page treatise on the true meaning behind “Lateralus” when the song tracks are re-arranged… Read More »Tool April 2017 Newsletter

Danny hoses down suggestions of a Tool album in June

Here’s a report from the Baked Potato tonight where Fourtheye reader nxrm had the chance to chat with Danny Carey: I went to The Baked Potato tonight and caught the first set of the Doug Webb Allstars. During the break I was fortunate to talk with Danny, and I asked him how high Tool fans must be to think the band would be releasing a new album prior to this… Read More »Danny hoses down suggestions of a Tool album in June

A Perfect Circle sign with BMG

A Perfect Circle have signed with record label BMG with Billy Howerdel telling us: We just signed a new record deal with BMG! Looking forward to sharing new music with you soon. New APC-2017! A few music sites around the place were pretty quick to jump on the idea that A Perfect Circle would have an album out in 2017.  Maynard pretty quickly hosed down those suggestions with a typically… Read More »A Perfect Circle sign with BMG

Tool in discussions with streaming services?

Yesterday I saw an article on Bloomberg regarding Tool being in discussion with streaming services to get their material onto Spotify, Apple Music, etc.  The article tells us: The rock band Tool is in talks to make its catalog available on streaming services in time for the release of its first album in more than a decade, according to people with knowledge of the matter, marking the end of another… Read More »Tool in discussions with streaming services?
