Maynard “still hopeful” of a Tool album

It looks like Maynard hasn’t given up hope of a new Tool album, at least according to a recent interview with WMMR (a radio station in Philadelphia I believe).  You can listen to the whole interview below, Maynard comes online at about the 1:46 mark.  It’s an ok interview, nothing you haven’t really heard before though (though I did discover Al Bundy has a black belt): When asked about Tool news… Read More »Maynard “still hopeful” of a Tool album

Tool March 2016 Newsletter

Blair has posted the March 2016 Tool Newsletter, and this month it recounts the life and death of a Pepsi cooler in the Loft. The status of the new album does get a bit of a mention though: After a short deliberation it was unanimously agreed by the band members – as a tribute to its many years of commendable service – to continue with the day’s session. Afterwards, there… Read More »Tool March 2016 Newsletter

Adam talks WWE with Rolling Stone

It’s a bit of a strange topic for an interview, but Rolling Stone spoke with Adam Jones recently about his love for Wrestling, and we get a very minor hint towards the new Tool album: Will you be attending WrestleMania 32 next month? Unfortunately, no – because it’s going to be epic. There’s going to be, like, 100,000 people there – the biggest sports entertainment crowd ever. You would be… Read More »Adam talks WWE with Rolling Stone

Tool January 2016 Newsletter

Blair has released the first Tool Newsletter of 2016, and in it makes a prediction that we might see some more action from Tool this year (and not in the touring sense): As I’m sure some of you are aware, it’s now 2016 era vulgaris (or, if your pseudo-Latin is a bit rusty, 2016 in the common era), and as such, it’s a fair bet that at least a few… Read More »Tool January 2016 Newsletter

Adam speaks with Rolling Stone about Tour and New Album

Adam Jones from Tool has recently talked with Rolling Stone about the Tool tour coming up in January, and progress on the new album. It’s a great interview, and while it doesn’t give us any real indication on how far away the album actually is, it does seem very positive. Interestingly it doesn’t seem to mention the Opiate video, which may or may not be out later this year. Here… Read More »Adam speaks with Rolling Stone about Tour and New Album

Tool VIP Event round-up

The Tool VIP Event has come and gone, and as expected it included a rehearsal and a Q & A session. A warning for those wanting to stay spoiler free for the show – rehearsal included a couple of surprises, which may or may not bne reflected in the setlist, so I’d avoid reading much further. At the session where Adam Jones, Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor. Maynard wasn’t in… Read More »Tool VIP Event round-up

Maynard discusses Biography with Rolling Stone

There’s a new interview with Maynard James Keenan today, this time with Rolling Stone who speak to him regarding the biography coming out next year. It’s an interesting read, here’s a snippet: Can you give me the backstory on this book? How did it come about? One of my best friends in high school, we’re still close, his sister’s a writer, she’s 10 years older than we are; she’s kind… Read More »Maynard discusses Biography with Rolling Stone

Devo Keenan AMA or Reddit

An interesting post on Reddit r/toolband today is an AMA featuring Devo Keenan, son of Tool singer Maynard James Keenan. Devo posted a photo of himself to claim authenticity, I can’t really verify it, since I have no idea what he looks like. Assuming it’s legit, it’s an interesting read. For Tool fans this is the most topical response: Thanks for coming by! Have you heard any new Tool or… Read More »Devo Keenan AMA or Reddit

Tool July 2015 Newsletter

Blair has published the Tool July 2015 Newsletter on Toolband this morning, and this time around it addresses Pluto, interviewing parking bollards, and hints at some further work being done on the new Tool album. It also gives Fourtheye a few plugs! Okay, by now some of you might be thinking, “fuck this expansive mind-stuff! I’m going to go to the fourtheye site to see if there’s any real news?”… Read More »Tool July 2015 Newsletter

Wait for it…

A mysterious post appeared on Toolband over the weekend with nothing other than “Wait for it…” and a small orange dot being posted. “Wait for what?” is the obvious question here, but it appears there are a couple of possibilities. Rumours (I have no insight into the source except it comes from a Tool Army fan page on Facebook) suggest that Tool might be headlining the Monster Mash Music Festival… Read More »Wait for it…
