Adam in Australian Guitar

As I do every month, I picked up latest edition of Australian Guitar magazine.  Like Rolling Stone they’ve also run a Big Day Out feature, this time running a much better interview with Adam.  The interview is really quite good, and for guitar geeks like me talks about his gear in a bit more detail.  Here’s a few highlights. On the Big Day Out: AG: How does playing a festival… Read More »Adam in Australian Guitar

Lies, Rumours and Speculation….

All the time I get people asking me questions. “Hey Hellboy, when do you think Tool will be playing in country X?” “When do you think the Vicarious video will be coming out?”. I’m always happy to answer these questions, but the truth is, most of the time I don’t know the answer. Anyway, since it’s a slow news day, and in order to inform those of us who don’t… Read More »Lies, Rumours and Speculation….

I noticed that Big Day Out tickets will go on sale at 12:01am Friday on the festival’s website (local time for each show I assume) and all other outlets from the start of business on Friday morning. So you’ll be waiting up if you absolutely must have them when they go on sale. If you’re bored and in Perth on Saturday, Ronan tells me there’s a Tool night being held… Read More »Big Day Out ticket update, Aeon Blue

Big Day Out Announcement

According to the recent Triple J newsletter, Jay and the Doctor will be announcing the Big Day Out Festival lineup on Wednesday morning.  While it’s been more or less established that Tool, Muse and Trivium will be playing, until that lineup is officially confirmed, anything could happen.  It also mentions that there’s been a few hoax lineups released recently, so those of you who have read any, especially the one… Read More »Big Day Out Announcement

Alex Grey at Burning Man

  • Tool

Alex Grey fans should take a look at this link on the CoSM site, which has a couple of slideshows from the recent Burning Man Festival.  Tool fans should check it out, since some of the banners from the Lateralus tour were on display.  Those whole like looking at men in sarongs should also check it out…

Justin Interview

The Arizona Republic have posted a short interview with Justin before their upcoming show at the Cricket Pavillion.  Not a bad read.  I guess this quote explains why Tool may be playing on the Big Day Out: Q: You played the Coachella Festival in California in April. How did that compare to the European festivals you played over the summer? A: It’s the one festival we played over here that… Read More »Justin Interview

CoSM, Drum Magazine

According the the recent CoSM Newsletter I received, Alex Grey will be at the Burning Man festival this year.  One of the features of his display will be the Sacred Mirror banners that Tool used on their Lateralus tour. Bastardometer from Toolarmy tells me that Danny will be featured in the new Drum Magazine.  The magazine will also feature tabs(?) for Vicarious on drums.

US Tour announcement imminent? Roskilde sells out.

Bob2884 (and several others) from Toolarmy have said that they overheard on the radio, that Tool will be making a huge announcement regarding the US tour later this year on Monday.  There also seems to be a new concert in Fresno, California on August 6 as well.    Looks like Tool might be squeezing in a few US (California only?) dates before heading off to Japan. In other tour news, I… Read More »US Tour announcement imminent? Roskilde sells out.

Stuff

A few snippets of info the last couple of days. CorpseGrindeR (who’s definitely NOT Gay) on Toolarmy posted a few links to some nice Tool photos yesterday. No idea who took them, but they appear to have been taken by someone in the crowd at the recent Tempe show. Dial-up users take not, they’re big pictures! http://img464.imageshack.us/img464/7151/adammaynardtooltempe061sk.jpg http://img464.imageshack.us/img464/8374/aenimatooltempe064ah.jpg http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/738/toolclosetempe063hp.jpg http://img50.imageshack.us/img50/4311/lipancontooltempe068nd.jpg Toolband/Army has confirmed that Tool are playing the Street Scene… Read More »Stuff

Street Scene 06

Apparently Tool are playing at the Street Scene Festival in San Diego on the 4th or 5th of August. Looks like Tool will be all over the place around then. San Diego early AUgust, Japan in the middle (plus Oz/NZ?) and then back to the US for their arena tour. Good way to build up the frequent flyer points I suppose! Other bands on the gig include Queens of the… Read More »Street Scene 06
