Tour Dates Confirmed and Changed

Blair on Toolband/Army has confirmed that Tool will be playing in Japan on the 12th of August in Osaka and the 13th of August in Tokyo. I think the Osaka date is part of the Summersonic Festival, but I’m not sure if the Tokyo show is also part of this, or a standalone Tool show. Hopefully Australian dates are coming soon….. Blair also confirmed that the German show in Berlin… Read More »Tour Dates Confirmed and Changed

US Tour

sobertoolfan9 on Toolarmy found this snippet on Launch: Sources have told Launch that TOOL is booking two concert dates in New York City for late May, with the dates and exact venue yet to be announced. The group is also rumored to be hitting several other cities that same month, including Seattle and Oakland. These shows will follow TOOL’s April 30 headlining performance at the Coachella festival in Indio, California,… Read More »US Tour

Tool at Coachella

Just a quickie…. Blair also writes that he spoke to Danny regarding the Coachella gig, and the Tool will be play at least some of the new CD there. Kinda gives me the impression that it’ll be more of the old show + a couple of new songs, rather than the “new” Tool experience, if indeed there is such a thing. Oh and there was some crap about the Schism… Read More »Tool at Coachella

Singles, Butcher, Artwork, Tours

A couple of quick snippets from around the web: It’s been mentioned in several places, in particular on Toolnavy that US radio will be playing the new single sometime between the 12th and the 17th of April.  Not long to go now.  Of course if memory serves me correctly, Schism was available from the Tool website a good week or so before Triple J played it for the first time… Read More »Singles, Butcher, Artwork, Tours

Tool in Japan

According to Yaz on Toolarmy, Tool are confirmed at the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan on the 12th and 13th of August.  This certainly clashes with the previously rumoured Australian tour dates. Still is great news, since I very much doubt Tool would go to Japan and then not to Australia and New Zealand. In other news, Adam is said to be featured in the next issue of Guitar World,… Read More »Tool in Japan

Billboard, Amazon, Isis+Butcher

According the Billboard: Rock act Tool will break a five-year silence on May 2 with its next album, “10,000 Days.” No other details have yet been revealed about the Volcano Records project, which is the follow-up to 2001’s “Lateralus.” That set debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 2.3 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Tool will play its first U.S. show… Read More »Billboard, Amazon, Isis+Butcher

New Tool Article

Darkmoogle has brought to my attention a new Tool article. I’m not 100% sure, but it looks like it’s from a magazine called Rock Sound, presumably a British mag since it mentions the Download Festival. There’s a scan of the article below, but in case you don’t feel like squinting: It confirms that 10,000 Days is the name of the CD Tracks include “Rosetta Stoned”, “Lost Keys (Blame Hoffman)” and… Read More »New Tool Article

Tool Tour Dates Confirmed?

The recent post on Toolband/Army with the ‘confirmed’ tour dates seems to be growing shorter and shorter. Gone are some dates in Amsterdam and London. There has been no word on why these dates are gone, so for the moment I recommend every out there treat that list as not 100% confirmed, and therefore don’t go planning your life around it. The list as it currently stands is: 5/26 –… Read More »Tool Tour Dates Confirmed?

Download Festival

According to the Download Festival’s website Tool are headlining on the first night, Friday the 9th of June.  From what I understand the Download Festival is held in the UK, and seems to be highly commercialised!  Good to see one of the headliners on the show aren’t old has-beens (I hope…..)
