Antiquiet speaks with Billy

An new interview on Antiquiet is now available.  It’s a long one and probably the best one with Billy Howerdel so far.  He talks about a range of topics related to A Perfect Circle and their upcoming tour: What are the chances that we’ll hear a new song? If you asked me last week, I would have said 70%… If you ask me this week, I’m going to say 60%.… Read More »Antiquiet speaks with Billy

Billy chats about A Perfect Circle reunion

Via the A Perfect Circle Facebook page I came across this interview with Billy in regards to A Perfect Circle on Gun Shy Assassin.  Amongst other things we already know, it also mentions that they’re planning on making a DVD from these reunion shows: But that’s not all. In addition, Howerdel says he’d like to document the upcoming reunion shows for a possible DVD release in the fall of 2011.… Read More »Billy chats about A Perfect Circle reunion

Maynard talks about Tool & Puscifer plans

jsmodena emailed me a link to a new interview with Maynard on Spin.  It’s pretty brief, but touches on upcoming recording/writing plans for both Tool and Puscifer: New music from Tool is also in the works. "They are getting together and writing," he says of bandmates drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones, and bassist Justin Chancellor. "I’ll be popping back into L.A. soon to check in."

August Updates

Here’s a bunch of news updates and things I’ve picked up of the last month but haven’t quite been motivated enough to create a new post for. In case you missed it, Justin Chancellor will be appearing on a couple of tracks on the new Intronaut album Valley of Smoke.  The album will be released on the 12th of October so Rodney tells me.  No word on what Justin plays… Read More »August Updates

Rolling Stone interviews Maynard

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Maynard reveals that Tool are considering playing some new material on the road: While the band isn’t touring behind any new material — its last album was 2006’s 10,000 Days — the frontman says Tool are quietly working on a new disc that’ll be released "when it’s ready." But they’re considering testing out some new material live. "We’re always writing," Keenan says. "If… Read More »Rolling Stone interviews Maynard

Joe Barresi Interview

Christophe from Salival.fr emailed me today to let me know he’s just posted an interview he did with Joe Barresi regarding the recording of 10,000 Days.  Nothing groundbreaking in the interview, but a good read none the less: You’re said to be more focused on guitars, and first Danny Carey was even a little worried (tough he told he got the best sound with you). How did you manage with… Read More »Joe Barresi Interview

Review: Dillinger Escape Plan & Periphery @ Fowlers Live

Note: This post contains no Tool content (aside from a few Tool shirts I saw at the gig).  For those that can’t handle that concept, please move on! Last night I was lucky enough to head into town with a mate of mine and check out a band I’ve been meaning to see in a small setting for some time now.  The Dillinger Escape Plan are a band I’ve been… Read More »Review: Dillinger Escape Plan & Periphery @ Fowlers Live

Maynard likes to “absorb life” between albums

In a short interview with Rock Radio Maynard commented that he likes to take time between Tool albums: "Some new band, their first two records are the ones that are the freshest, ’cause they’ve had all their lives to write them. And then that third record ends up being all about the inside of a bus and something that happened backstage ’cause what else have they seen? And I’ve pretty… Read More »Maynard likes to “absorb life” between albums
