Alex Grey & Adam Jones interview

Jonathon submitted this link to me this morning, which contains a very interesting interview with both Alex Grey and Adam Jones in relation to the Tool’s 10,000 Days artwork. The article also contains a few audio and visual samples for you all to enjoy. One important thing mentioned is that the Vicarious video, which features Grey’s artwork should be out early July.

MTV Interview Justin

Here’s an interview on the MTV website, with and interview with Justin.  He comments on 10,000 Days reaching number 1, internet leaks, winemaking, touring and my favorite: (Tool) are in talks to be featured in the forthcoming “Guitar Hero 2” video game It also mentions that Tool are gearing up for an 8-week US tour in August/September.  All in one foul swoop, my plans of seeing Tool in Australia in… Read More »MTV Interview Justin

The Age speaks to Tool

Australia’s The Age newspaper spoke to Tool recently, and have posted the interview online.  Presumably it’s been printed in the paper as well.  For all you fans who’ve asked about Tool on iTunes, here’s your answer: Keenan thinks iTunes is another chance for the industry to screw the artist. “They’re using the same old model,” he says. “There’s no extra marketing, no package deductions, but they’re still ripping the artist… Read More »The Age speaks to Tool

Xpress Tool Interview

Here’s a brief Tool interview on the X-Press Online website.  Although short, it actually has a couple of different questions to the usual interviews I’ve been reading. Tool’s challenge now is to reproduce the epic live. The ultimate Tool show, Keenan says, is “A situation where we can set up a holographic performance and simulcast to different cities. To the point where even the audience is holographic for us. We… Read More »Xpress Tool Interview

Coachella, Rage, Sunrise

There’s plenty of bits and pieces floating around regarding the recent Coachella show.  A couple of guys at Toolnavy has posted some pictures of the show (though the one’s I’ve seen aren’t of great quality) and Distortion Online seems to have a few mp3s. Just a reminder that Tool are appearing on Rage this weekend as guest programmers.  The Rage website has a little preview video of Danny and Maynard… Read More »Coachella, Rage, Sunrise

Snippets

Just a couple of little bits and pieces from the web the last couple of days: Some Signed Lateralus Vinyl is up on eBay at the moment.  Price is up to US$355 right at the moment…. Here’s a little interview with Maynard and Justin from the NZ Herald.  Speaks of rumours of a tour in November, but apart from that isn’t much different from the last 50 or so articles. … Read More »Snippets

Spiralysis

Ben from Spiralysis tells me that he is hosting the recent Triple J interview with Danny and Maynard.  Feel free to head to his website if you want to have a listen.  He also has plenty of interesting videos of the band, and in particular Danny, so it’s well worth the visit. I had a listen to the interview last night, and it was a good interview, though revealed nothing… Read More »Spiralysis

Triple J Interview

Triple J will be playing their interview with Tool tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon at 3pm Australian Eastern Standard Time.  You can tune in via the internet if you wish. Thanks to the many people that submitted this (sorry, I’m not going to bother naming you all!) ….

Tool Interview with Beat

James sent me the link to this interview with Tool today from the Australian Beat website. Quite an interesting interview. Suggests that Alex Grey is working with Adam on the new video, which was something I was unaware of, though not particularly surprising either. Also talks about an Australian tour, and while nothing has been booked, they’d like to be here this year, but if not will definitely be here… Read More »Tool Interview with Beat

Finnish Maynard Interview

The Betterfly on Toolarmy posted an interview with Maynard on TA boards this morning. Here’s some highlights: A huge thanks to Joe Barresi who spent lots of time and effort working on (especially) guitar sounds. I think “10,000 Days” is overall more “raw” sounding than “Lateralus” or “Aenima” and you have to go back all the way to “Undertow” to find similar soundscapes. “Lipan Conjuring” is Danny’s little song which… Read More »Finnish Maynard Interview
