Interview

Maynard on the Standard Ass Rock Show

I read on Blabbermouth today about an interview Maynard has given with Carl Sundberg of the Standard Ass Rock Show on Oregon radio station KFLY.  Surprisingly the questioning isn’t as douchebaggy as I’ve come to expect from US radio.  Here’s a quote regarding music downloads and it’s effect on the industry: I think it’s a much bigger conversation. I think part of the problem with most of that is just… Read More »Maynard on the Standard Ass Rock Show

Buzz vomits up further info on Freak Puke

Spin have a nice interview with King Buzzo today, in which he talks about the forthcoming Melvins album Freak Puke. The album, which features Trevor Dunn on bass, is sounding more and more interesting: Is he (Trevor Dunn) playing stand up on the whole record? The whole record. There is no electric bass on that record whatsoever. As a matter of fact, there’s not even a bass amp on that… Read More »Buzz vomits up further info on Freak Puke

Omaha GO Interview with Maynard

I stumbled across this interview today, by Kevin Coffey from Omaha GO, where he talks to Maynard about a range of mainly Puscifer related topics: Q. I really liked the harmonies with Carina Round. Your voices fit together really well. How did that come together. A. Most of it, I would just riff with myself. Just kind of come up with harmonies. Wherever I was super stuck I’d just have… Read More »Omaha GO Interview with Maynard

Scene In The Dark interview Mat Mitchell from Puscifer just after the Jimmy Kimmel performance, and he discusses his work with the band, as well as the process behind recording Conditions of My Parole: SCENE: What track are you most proud of in that regard? Maynard to appear on MTV2’s 120 Minutes

According to a recent post on various Maynard related Facebook sites, Maynard will be appearing on the February 24th episode of MTV2’s 120 Minutes with Matt Pinfield.  According to what I read “Matt Pinfield the legendary host and walking encyclopaedia of all things music is back at the helm and bringing his friends into the conversation.”.  Sound like another Matt you guys know? In other news that I may or… Read More »Maynard to appear on MTV2’s 120 Minutes

Maynard talks about Arizona & Winemaking

I came across a new interview on Arizona Republic with Maynard today, where he talks about his experiences in Arizona and Winemaking. Nothing particularly new, but an interesting read none the less: Touring plans will have to be scheduled around his other big commitment, though: He can’t very well tour during harvest. “Pretty much from August to November,” Keenan says, “I’m in the winery.” In other Maynard news, check out… Read More »Maynard talks about Arizona & Winemaking

Metal Band Art speak with Chet Zar

Vertebrae33 emailed me today to let me know about an interview he did with Chet Zar for his website Metal Band Art.  The interview features a range of questions about his artwork, his influences and his work with bands such as Tool.  A short but interesting read.

Maynard & Paul Revolver Double Tag Team

In a Revolver double header today, we have news from both Maynard and former Tool bass player Paul D’Amour. Firstly, Maynard talks briefly about the release of the new Puscifer album Conditions of My Parole (which should be out now!).  When asked about Tool he mentioned: How many times a day does someone ask you about a new Tool record? At least 20… Wait, what time is it? 22. Twenty-two… Read More »Maynard & Paul Revolver Double Tag Team

Howerdel discusses new A Perfect Circle material

In a recent interview with Gotham Radio, Billy Howerdel talks about A Perfect Circle, new songs, the upcoming tour and Ashes Divide.  Here’s a snippet: So will we hear new APC music on the tour? “We are gonna hear at least a song, I would say,” Billy tells me. “One of them is very, very close to being done. And from there, things could come together once we get on… Read More »Howerdel discusses new A Perfect Circle material
