News regarding releases of Tool material
Lachrymotion on Toolnavy claims that 10,000 Days is now “In Transit”. This suggests that the CD’s have been printed, and are on the way to various warehouses. What does this mean for the average Tool fan. Not much, but it may not be long until one of these copies finds its way onto the net…..
klaxmexalix on Toolarmy posts that Tool will be hosting Rage (an Australian TV music video show) on Saturday the 6th of May. Some of you guys may have seen a 20 second alleged leak out there. It’s purely instrumental, featuring some good drumming, though to my ears guitar and bass that are lost in the mix. This obviously goes against what we’ve heard about the new Tool CD (except for the good drumming bit). As usual, it ain’t Tool, and is apparently some band called Miocene. Just a quickie…. Blair also writes that he spoke to Danny regarding the Coachella gig, and the Tool will be play at least some of the new CD there. Kinda gives me the impression that it’ll be more of the old show + a couple of new songs, rather than the “new” Tool experience, if indeed there is such a thing. In the recent CoSM Newsletter, it briefly talks about the 10,000 Days artwork. Nothing particularly new though: Many fans have inquired regarding the album art TOOL has released on Amazon for pre-sale of the album. The cover is an adaptation of Alex Grey’s painting, Net of Being. Blair on Toolband/Army posts today that Butcher played recently with some disturbing new artwork. Reg Reagan and Parabol from Toolarmy have pointed out to me a couple of online shops which have a product from Tool called 10,000 Years. It would appear to be priced about US$10 more than the CD, however some of the links I’ve check with it have vanished just moments ago! Is it another Tool release? A limited edition with a live DVD? Who knows, but we’ll find out one… Read More »10,000 Years? Not much happening in the Tool world at the moment. Everyone seems to be expecting the unexpected and presuming there’s some sort of April Fools joke. I’m sure there will be one, but I doubt it’ll have anything to do with the real name of the new CD. Billboard are reporting that Vicarious will be the first single from 10,000 Days and will be played on US Radio stations on the 17th of April: Rock act Tool has revealed the track list for its next studio album, “10,000 Days.” As previously reported, the set is due May 2 via Volcano.
