According to Billboard.com: Volcano will on Dec. 20 release short form DVD singles for the Tool songs “Schism” and “Parabola.” Beyond the video clips for the tracks, the DVDs will feature previously unreleased audio remixes plus commentary. “Schism” and “Parabola” are drawn from Tool’s most recent studio album, 2001’s “Lateralus.” The set has sold 2.3 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Blair has posted on Toolarmy that the Signed Lateralus Vinyl will be available on Friday November the 25th. No time was announced, though Blair mentioned he’d try and get that information out to members before it happens. No other details were offered but presumably the cost will remain the same (US$100 + US$16 shipping to Australia) and that members will be limited to one each. Word on the street is that there may be two DVD’s released on the 20th of December. On with the Parabol/Parabola video and the other with Schism. Still no word on what else may be on the DVD(s) however selling two DVD’s each containing just one video seems a little silly to me. Rumours aboud that more Signed Vinyl will be available, and that the release last week was really just a small on for the benefit of those in the chats. There’s no official word on this yet, but in hte meantime I guess it’s a glimmer of hope for those that missed out.
I checked Toolarmy this morning, and it looks like the Signed Vinyl is gone, presumably sold out.
