Vicarious DVD on the way?

Yaz on Toolarmy posts that Japanese retail is showing that a Vicarious DVD will be release on the 6th of September. No images or further information was made available, so your guess is as good as mine as to what actually appears. For those with short memories it was rumoured a while ago that the DVD may contain a Wings For Marie/10,000 Days video and/or some live footage.

Joe Barresi and Bob Ludwig on 10,000 Days

Blair posts on Toolband/Army today that there’s an interview with Joe Barresi and Bob Ludwig about the recording of 10,000 Days.  Certainly one that I missed, and a very interesting read as well. Check it out here. Tool is a dynamic band: intricate and intense, brutal and subtle. Each album is an aural adventure full of high-caliber musicianship, sick humor and sonic surprises. They create hard-edged, surreal portraits with driving… Read More »Joe Barresi and Bob Ludwig on 10,000 Days

More Signed Vinyls on Ebay

A couple of Signed Lateralus Vinyls appeared on Ebay over the weekend.  One looks like I sold for a whopping US$850, the other is still on auction, currently 226 pounds.  What that equates to in real money who knows!  Anyway, if you’re in the market for a copy, and have the bank balance to cope with it, here’s the link. Sorry if posts are a little slow the next few… Read More »More Signed Vinyls on Ebay

Tour Dates, Vicarious Video Update

Blair‘s posted plenty of new tour dates on Toolband, including some East Coast US Dates, and some more European dates. Also confirmed was that Tool will be playing in Athens in December, though the venue is TBA. Apollo has blessed you. There’s been lots of interest in the Vicarious video, and when it would be released. In response to this, Chronographer on Toolarmy posted a link to an interview with… Read More »Tour Dates, Vicarious Video Update

Alex Grey’s Tool Book

Blksun from Toolarmy shared with me today an email from Amazon, saying that they delayed book Tool by Alex Grey has been published, and will be available in 4-6 Weeks.  Good news for those out there looking forward to this.  There are many rumours that the live DVD will accompany this book, however given Tool’s recent statements about the live DVD not being done, it would seem this is unlikely

Tool in California (again) and Alex Grey 10000 Days

A friend of clg2112 says that Tool are definitely playing the Staples Center in California on the 7th, 8th and 9th of September.  I’m sure confirmation of this will appear on Toolband in due course. Blksun from Toolarmy shares with us a picture of his copy of 10,000 Days signed by Alex Grey.  Looks good to me.

Live Photo’s, Signed Vinyl on Ebay

Living Colour, Rumours

For those of you who live in Sydney, and have nothing to do on Saturday night (the 20th) make sure you get on over to The Roxy to see one of my favorite bands – Living Colour.  These guys (as well as Tool and Faith No More) we’re probably the biggest influences on me musically when I was younger.  Sadly, they’re touring nowhere near Northern Queensland, so I won’t get… Read More »Living Colour, Rumours

Record Sales

Not really any news today, so I though I’d quickly comment on the recent record sales.  We all know that Tool sold 564,000 copies of 10,000 Days in the US, which is an impressive figure for any band, and outstrips the sales on Lateralus as well.  As it turns out, that’s the highest selling CD in one week so far in 2006. Since the Red Hot Chilli Peppers new CD… Read More »Record Sales

“The best album art since the 70’s”

I found this article on Yahoo Music today, which talks about 10,000 Days, with a few quotes from Adam, and also from their record company Zomba: Fans love it, says Bryan Everitt, director of music operations for the 153-store Hastings Entertainment chain. “It’s great to see music lovers reading the liner notes and really enjoying holding the product in their hands again.” (Adam) Jones, who came up with the concept,… Read More »“The best album art since the 70’s”
