August 2013 Tool Newsletter

Blair has posted the August 2013 Tool newsletter, and it discusses his recent wisdom tooth removal as well as some movement in the Loft: The first thing that I noticed was that some of the band’s equipment had been moved back to their usual places, meaning that the guys had probably delivered the goods to MJK, and were now back in their ‘normal’ writing session mode. Then I saw further… Read More »August 2013 Tool Newsletter

My Top 10 Tool Songs: #9 Jambi

I really liked 10,000 Days. While the album seemed to disappoint some, personally I wasn’t. I don’t think it’s quite as solid as Lateralus and Aenema are, but it’s a great album and a worth inclusion in Tool‘s discography. When I first started putting my list together I had three entries from the album, and there quite easily could have been four. Though Right In Two, Rosetta Stoned and Wings… Read More »My Top 10 Tool Songs: #9 Jambi

David Bottril & Mackie Osborne interviews

Christophe from Salival.fr is a long time supporter of Fourtheye, and has a series of short Tool related interviews on his website. Recently he’s added two more; one with Aenema and Lateralus Producer David Bottrill and another with graphic artist and designer Mackie Osborne. Both are good reads, and well worth your time if you’re interested in reading about the history of Tool’s older releases.

My Top 10 Tool Songs: #10 Flood

Things are quiet up in the Loft, perhaps a little too quiet. While we all await some news regarding a new album, I thought I’d take some time to indulge myself and publish my personal Tool top 10. You may agree, you may disagree, that is both expected and welcomed. Feel free to discuss my selections are reasoning, as well as add your own. If anyone feels like having a… Read More »My Top 10 Tool Songs: #10 Flood

Maynard discusses new album progress with Marc Maron

The Marc Maron interview with Maynard is now online, and surprisingly features some good news for Tool fans: I’m gonna stop by the rehearsal space today in theory, I’ve been beating them up going please give me music. In theory they have a cd for me today so I can listen to some jams and we can get this thing going. In other discussion: Maynard seems quite aware that some… Read More »Maynard discusses new album progress with Marc Maron

Tool to release anniversary editions of Sober figures?

Adam posted a couple of hours on Instagram: Original head that I sculpted 20yrs ago for our ‘Sober’ video. *We are talking about a possible anniversary limited run of this character..? #Tool #sober @barry_mccockener @puscifer #JustinChancellor Could the curveball be some kind of Sober Re-issue? There’s been plenty of speculation that the curveball could be some kind of Salival type package containing HD versions of their videos. Perhaps a limited… Read More »Tool to release anniversary editions of Sober figures?

July 2013 Tool Newsletter

Blair has published the July 2013 Tool Newsletter, which as promised contains answers to the quiz posed in the June one. How did you go? Other than that, there are no particular revelations in the newsletter. 1)Of the dozen or so spoof Tool CDs included in the spurious catalog in the insert contained in the import (i.e. European) version of Aenima, one of them is actually real (meaning that it… Read More »July 2013 Tool Newsletter

Loudwire has a chat with Danny recently, mainly about Volto!
