February Tool Newsletter released

Blair has published the February 2013 Tool Newsletter, and it contains an interview with Opiate reissue artist Adi Granov. Here’s a snippet: Q: First off, how did you get involved with the cover artwork for the 21st anniversary release of Opiate? A: Adam and I met last year, and he was already familiar with my work, so we started talking about collaborating on various things. At some point some artwork… Read More »February Tool Newsletter released

Adam posts a Toolish teaser?

Adam has posted in Instagram a partial image of something that looks like a drawing of his. No clues as to what it is except for the hash tag #soon: Your guess is as good as mine as to what it’s for. Is it a poster for a coming tour (Tool or otherwise)? Is it some kind of artwork from the “unexpected” project or perhaps from the Pot DVD? Any… Read More »Adam posts a Toolish teaser?

Reminder: Tool public ticket sales

Just a quick reminder for those who didn’t acquire tickets via the pre sale that the public sale for the Australian and New Zealand Tool shows takes place tomorrow at 9am local time. Based on pre sale data, I’d expect Melbourne and Sydney shows to tell out within a few hours, and Brisbane not too long afterwards. I have posted a rumour about a second Tool show in Melbourne (and… Read More »Reminder: Tool public ticket sales

Second Melbourne Tool show?

Terry posted on Facebook today that he noticed the recent Ticketek newsletter showed two Tool dates for Melbourne – the existing one on the 27th, and then a second on the 28th Nothing official has been announced, but it wouldn’t come as a huge shock to me to see a second show confirmed in the next few days.

Will Ticketek be your Valentine?

Tool fans are romantics at heart, and while some are aiming for a little Prison Sex later on this evening, others will be sitting by their computers at lunch time hoping to obtain good tickets for the upcoming Tool Tour. Today’s presale starts at 12noon at the venues local time. Hopefully you have each signed up on the Frontier website to register for your presale code, and you’ve also registered… Read More »Will Ticketek be your Valentine?

Petition for Perth Tool show

Not sure how effective online petitions are personally, but it appears there has been one started to try and convince Tool and/or their promoters Frontier Touring to consider putting on a Tool show in Perth. If you’d like to contribute to this campaign by signing the petition, then can do so here.

Adam speaks with Triple J

The Tool interview onslaught continued last night as Adam spoke with Triple J‘s the Doctor in a recent radio interview. A quite chirpy Adam talks about practicing new songs, dark parties with Rammstien, comic writing with Adi Granov, Vicarious mathematics, Danny leading the band live, rekindling a love for metal and tasers. The full interview can be found on the Triple J site.
