Adam drops The Pot hint?

As noted overnight by GoListen2LennyWhite on Reddit, Adam seems to have recently posted a pic on Instagram which may or may not hint towards a video for The Pot. Here’s the photo: The photo includes the tags #whyseeagel and #hottep, the latter which is speculated to be an anagram for The Pot. Anyone got any thoughts on the first one? Wordsmith.org returns 426 possible results, including my favorite “Wash Eye… Read More »Adam drops The Pot hint?

Tom Morello gives us some further insight into RATM and Tool’s history

cultiv8420 sent me an email today telling me to check out an interview with Tom Morello about Tool. At first I presuming it was the Nightwatchmen one he did the other day, but it turns out it’s another interview in which Tom discusses the early days of Rage Against The Machine, and the part in the scene with Tool. He also talks about Maynard appearing on Know Your Enemy: It… Read More »Tom Morello gives us some further insight into RATM and Tool’s history

The Nightwatchmen Speaks about Tool

Tom Morello does a regular Youtube Q&A session called The Nightwatchmen Speaks, and on the episode released over the weekend Tom speaks about playing with Adam Jones as well as seeing some of the first Tool shows. He also tells us that Undertow is his favorite Tool album. Here’s the video: Thanks to slouch on Reddit for the tip!

December Tool Newsletter/Shopping List

Blair has released the December newsletter today, which amongst other things gives us a pretty good idea as to where songwriting is at. Here’s a snippet: Something that might be encouraging to some Tool enthusiasts is that while riding with Danny to Chili John’s yesterday, I heard a lot of new Tool music (sans Maynard). This was the most new material that I’ve heard so far, although a few of… Read More »December Tool Newsletter/Shopping List

Toolband confirms Ozzfest Japan

Blair updated Toolband today with a poster from the 2013 Ozzfest festival (featuring Tool) in what can be presumed is a confirmation of the event. Will it be a show in isolation, or part of a tour? Hopefully we’ll find out soon…

Tool pillows and other money spending opportunities

Looks like the Tool pillows Blair mentioned are now available for purchase via the Toolband store just in time for Xmas. Turns out they are made from old band shirts, so if you’ve put on weight while waiting for the new Tool album, perhaps you could drag out some of your old shirts and make your own! If you’re not so inclinded to sew, then they can be purchased for… Read More »Tool pillows and other money spending opportunities

Tool November 2012 Newsletter online

It’s a sunny day in Adelaide today, and for fans that like short and to the point newsletters, today should also be a sunny one for them. Blair’s November Tool newsletter is now available on Toolband, and for those that often type tl:dr here are the highlights: Adam is in England, Maynard is doing stuff with other bands, and Danny & Justin are/were in Hawaii Not much writing in the… Read More »Tool November 2012 Newsletter online

Tool booked for Ozzfest Japan

In news that is certainly a surprise to me, Tool have been booked to play the Japanese version of Ozzfest in May 2013. The lineup also includes Black Sabbath, Slipknot, Slash, Deftones and Stone Sour. Tool are mentioned as playing the 12th of May as the second headliner before Black Sabbath. I guess someone made them an offer they couldn’t refuse! Don’t go booking your flights just yet though –… Read More »Tool booked for Ozzfest Japan

Grails for Tool

Alex Grey recently gifted all four members of Tool a special CoSM Grail. According to the blog post: All four members of the band Tool were recently gifted with CoSM Grails. The CoSM Grail is a symbol that we are vessels of creative energy with expansive vision. An edition of extraordinary bronze grails, created by Alex, was recently cast by Black Hills Bronze. See the exciting foundry work, the initiatory… Read More »Grails for Tool

October 2012 Tool Newsletter published

Blair has published his October 2012 Tool Newsletter. His usual dense prose seems to largely cover Justin’s recent escapades in Houston, and not a whole bunch of Tool specific info (or any from my quick read). Only thing of interest I can find for Tool fans is the line “By the way, whatever happened to your friends playing those big shows in South America in the Fall?” Good question. My… Read More »October 2012 Tool Newsletter published
