Aaron Turner hints at Tool studio date

News on progress on the new Tool record is quite elusive at the moment, and while this is nothing concrete, some new information has come to light courtesy of one of our forum members: Interview with Aaron Turner a few nights ago on RRR radio. They asked him what albums he was looking forward to in 2013. He mentioned Tool and the interviewer commented on the massive gap of nothingness… Read More »Aaron Turner hints at Tool studio date

King Buzzo talks about The Melvins, Fantomas and working with Tool

MWDWN have an good interview with King Buzzo in which he talks about The Melvins (doing lots of shit), Fantomas (not doing anything for now) and Tool: As for The Melvins’ one-time collaboration with Tool on The Crybaby, he’s optimistic that the two bands might rejoin to write more original material but confirms nothing has been planned. “Well you know, I would do whatever they wanted to. Alex Grey’s Net of Being

I don’t normally plug books on this site, but Alex Grey‘s coming book Net of Being promises to shed some further light on his collaboration with Tool. According to the Amazon description: How Alex Grey’s visionary art is evolving the cultural body through icons of interconnectedness • Includes over 200 reproductions of Grey’s artwork • Contains spectacular photos of Grey’s collaboration with the cult band TOOL plus his worldwide live-painting… Read More »Alex Grey’s Net of Being

New Album update (of sorts)

I did my usual Toolarmy visit this morning, and noticed Blair had posted an update, which alludes to some progress on the new Tool album (and tacos): I went over to the loft a couple of days ago to find Danny in great spirits about the week’s writing sessions. Things went so well, in fact, that Tool’s drummer funded a 12-pack of crunchy tacos from Taco Bell for Thursday’s band… Read More »New Album update (of sorts)

Tool August 2012 Newsletter out now!

The August Tool 2012 Newsletter is up on Toolband and this month Blair talks about entymology and some kind of secret band meeting. Anyone care to speculate what the meeting was about? Recording? Live DVD? The Pot video?

Tool July 2012 Newsletter

This morning I logged into Toolband to discover that the July 2012 Tool newsletter has been released. I haven’t had a chance to read it right through, but it’s the fourth and final part of the Tales From The Loft series, presumably covering the time when 10,000 Days was recorded. Check it out!

Maynard chat with Joe Rogan now available

The much antcipated Joe Rogan show with Maynard is now online, and as expected is quite good! It’s a long and interesting conversation where Maynard touches on a range of subjects including Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, Wine making, Martial Arts, Drug experiences, Lateralus, wrestling Tool fans and much more. Well worth the listen. For those taking notes nothing specific was really mentioned in regards to progress on the new… Read More »Maynard chat with Joe Rogan now available

Adam comments on new album progress

Adam has recently made a couple of comments (allegedly on Facebook but I couldn’t see them) in regards to fans having to wait for the new Tool album. He comments: “To those of you who demand a new album from Tool: would you rather get something mediocre now, or something impressive later?” “Truth is, we don’t write for you, we write for us — but we don’t share for us,… Read More »Adam comments on new album progress

Children of Saturn Podcast now online

The Children of Saturn podcast from the other day is now online, and can be downloaded here. There’s some great music played right the way through, but for people with less time on their hands, the Volto! track is at the 60 minute mark, and Danny talks briefly about Tool right at the end.

Danny’s guest spot on Children of Saturn

It was at short notice, but Danny was the guest on today’s Children of Saturn radio show, which I was lucky enough to hear most of today. The show has been on a break for a couple of months, but started up again this morning and should be back to normal, hopefully with some interesting guests in the coming weeks. Danny played a range of cool tunes, and spoke about… Read More »Danny’s guest spot on Children of Saturn
