Poll Results: What Tool Project would you like to see released next?

Last week I asked what Tool project you would like to see released next.  Most of you are pretty keen on the Live DVD, which I’d say may actually never happen, at least not while the band are still together.  Unsurprisingly alot of you also want Tool – The Movie.  Personally I’d like the Live DVD, since I’m not sold on the idea of Tool – The Movie just yet….… Read More »Poll Results: What Tool Project would you like to see released next?

Aussie dates coming soon?

Auroboros from Toolarmy emailed me today, to tell me that his Mum tells him that Tool have been booked by Frontier Touring and will be playing in Melbourne on the 9th or 10th of December.  The dates sound about right based on Maynard‘s comments earlier this year, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see as to how accurate this rumour is…..

Some Days It’s Dark

Tool have recently added a new song to their setlist – Some Days It’s Dark by Death Lurks. No, I haven’t heard of them or the song either, but if you’re heading out to see the band soon, keep your ears open. You can also look forward to the drummer from Big Business joining the band onstage during Lateralus. Thanks to Ryan from Distortion Online for the tip!  Edit: And… Read More »Some Days It’s Dark

Osseus Labyrint

A new post on Toolband/Army tells us that Osseus Labyrint will be displaying at the Bert Green Fine Art Gallery.  It seems to be largely a visual show, but I’m sure it will involve some wierd walking at some point.  It is noted that there will be a few Tool momentos at the show, so Tool fans in LA should probably check it out. Some of you may remember Osseus… Read More »Osseus Labyrint

Russian Circles to support Tool in UK

Thanks to the Tool Hotline who tell me that Chicago band Russian Circles will be supporting Tool on the three UK dates on the upcoming tour.  Sounds like they got the job because Isis, Pelican and These Arms Are Snakes weren’t available, that and Justin Chancellor seemed to like their music.  Check out how they got the gig in this Drowned In Sound interview, then go and have a listen… Read More »Russian Circles to support Tool in UK

Adam in Guitar World

I had a chance to read the recent Guitar World article with Adam Jones, and it’s one of the best Tool articles I’ve read for a while.  It reveals plenty of new info and some insight into Adam’s guitar playing.  Here are some points I know most of you are interested in: The first video for 10,000 Days (presumably Vicarious) will be entirely in CGI has run into some “vicious… Read More »Adam in Guitar World

Signed Lateralus on Ebay

Looks like Tree from Toolarmy has his signed Lateralus vinyl up for sale on Ebay.  It’s on the UK site so is in pounds, and currently the bidding is at £250, that‘s around $586 Aussie dollars.

Justin “I would never be worthy”

Justin speaks to The Detroit News about their upcoming show, and talked about some events that happened around the time he replaced Paul:  “When I joined the band, I got a couple of nasty letters from people who were upset to lose Paul,” says Chancellor, 36, about replacing original bass player Paul D’Amour in 1995.  “I got one written in blood telling me that I would never be worthy. That… Read More »Justin “I would never be worthy”

“Sooner Than Later”

Justin Chancellor had a chat with the Launch Radio Networks the other day and he had this to say: “Honestly, I don’t know,” he said. “We’re in the second year of this tour already and it won’t be long before people have said it’s five years already. If we finish touring by, say, next January or February, once we’ve taken a little time off, it’s almost unavoidable that it’s gonna… Read More »“Sooner Than Later”
