Justin discusses the new album with Metal Sucks

Metal Sucks have today published a Podcast which contains a 10 minute interview with Justin Chancellor, where he talks about progress on the new Tool album, and their love of playing live.  While the interview is short on much concrete information, Justin does mention that he believes the new album is about 90% done.  He declined to give any indication of when it would be released though. It’s an insightful… Read More »Justin discusses the new album with Metal Sucks

Tool Summer 2017 tour wrapup

The Tool Summer 2017 tour is done; capped off with a huge show at San Bernadino this evening. I’ve been holding back posting much about the tour, as I don’t really want to spoil it for those who are attending shows, but now that were all done, here’s a re-cap of what went down: Tool played much the same setlist each night.  It was a pretty good one, though some… Read More »Tool Summer 2017 tour wrapup

Justin talks about San Bernadino show

Adam had his chance, now Justin Chancellor speaks OC Weekly about the San Bernadino Tool show coming up this weekend.  He opens up a bit about some of the other acts playing on the weekend including Primus: “My fourth gig I ever did with Tool was at the Oakland Coliseum. We supported Primus,” Chancellor said. “I was like 25 and it was all very overwhelming. To come full circle and… Read More »Justin talks about San Bernadino show

Adam Jones interview in upcoming issue of Kerrang

Reports from the Tool Army Members Facebook page suggest that Tool will be the focus of the next issue of Kerrang Magazine, and will feature Adam Jones on “that new album”.  Exactly what we’ll get remains to be seen (the title seems a bit click-baity), but I’d hesitate to suggest it’ll be anything more than “we’re still working diligently on it”…

Adam talks about the San Bernadino not-festival

Adam Jones from Tool recently had a chat with Kelli from the Orange County Register, in which he discussed a few things about the current tour and upcoming San Bernadino show.  He suggests that they’re still working on the album (though doesn’t give any clues as to when it’ll be done), and that the coming San Bernadino show isn’t a festival! “We’re not using the ‘F-word’ on this – you know,… Read More »Adam talks about the San Bernadino not-festival

New Tool Website

Looks like Tool have made the switch this morning from their old Toolband site to the new Full Screen Direct service.  There seem to be a number of problems (a few usability issues, some 404’s invalid SSL certificates) but otherwise seems to work for the most part.  I haven’t had much of a chance to delve into the social aspect of the site, or the Toolarmy “bits” so will render… Read More »New Tool Website

Fantômas and Clutch join Tool show in SoCal

Announced this morning are the two “special guests” promised for the Tool show in San Bernadino this June.  They are Fantômas and Clutch, who are both great additions to the lineup! Anyway, this sounds like a great show.  Wish I could be there, but seems unlikely to happen!  Looking forward to hearing reports from all Fourtheye readers who attend! ADDITIONAL SPECIAL GUESTS ANNOUNCED FOR TOOL’S ONLY SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SHOW CLUTCH AND… Read More »Fantômas and Clutch join Tool show in SoCal

Tool April 2017 Newsletter

The April 2017 Tool newsletter is out, and it pretty much reinforced the previous post where Danny hoses down album speculation: WTF!!! Are you serious? How in the world could anyone – even the most desperate Tool enthusiast make such an incredible leap? I’ve received email over the years from people who have included a 20 page treatise on the true meaning behind “Lateralus” when the song tracks are re-arranged… Read More »Tool April 2017 Newsletter

Danny hoses down suggestions of a Tool album in June

Here’s a report from the Baked Potato tonight where Fourtheye reader nxrm had the chance to chat with Danny Carey: I went to The Baked Potato tonight and caught the first set of the Doug Webb Allstars. During the break I was fortunate to talk with Danny, and I asked him how high Tool fans must be to think the band would be releasing a new album prior to this… Read More »Danny hoses down suggestions of a Tool album in June
