Danny plays drums with reggae band Steel Pulse

cultiv8420 sent me a email this morning with a video featuring Danny playing drums for British reggae band Steel Pulse at their recent show at the Canyon Club in LA. Not the greatest of recordings, but it’s interesting to see Danny drumming outside of his usual genre:

Maynard in Bring Me The Disco King cover

Bored this morning? Here’s a track I never got around to listening to before from the Underworld Soundtrack – Bring Me the Disco King by David Bowie, and is it covered by Maynard James Keenan, John Frusciante and apparently also features Josh Freese. For your listening pleasure: Personally, I think it’s a pretty unremarkable song and cover version. I’m not familiar with the original, and Maynard vocals are limited to… Read More »Maynard in Bring Me The Disco King cover

Salival, Lateralus and 10,000 Days webcasts now available

Parabolateralus posted in the Fourtheye forums this morning links to three Tool webcasts recorded with Tool in the leadup to Salival, Lateralus and 10,000 Days. From memory these were recorded for Toolarmy members, and have since been lost in the ether (except for the 10,000 Days one, which is still there). Anyway, if you have a spare couple of hours free, and I know you do, then take a listen… Read More »Salival, Lateralus and 10,000 Days webcasts now available

Danny Carey with the School of Rock house band

I know you all love watching Danny Carey videos, and memphisdj emailed me a new one this morning, where Danny plays with the kids from the School of Rock house band: Not a bad effort from all involved, and it was great to see Danny rocking out on a relatively small drumkit! Update: According to Loudwire, Danny also offered an update on the new album: While the group hasn’t fully… Read More »Danny Carey with the School of Rock house band

Tomahawk – Oddfellows to be released Fall 2012

Ipecac Recordings have released a new teaser for the upcoming Tomahawk album, which appears to be called Oddfellows. The album, like every other one released these days will have Trevor Dunn playing bass and is set for a release in the fall of 2012. That would be the northern hemisphere fall for those who didn’t already work that out. Here’s the preview:

Danny & Maynard video double!

A couple of videos made it into my inbox in the last 24 hours, one featuring Danny, and the other Maynard. The first one is a promotional video of sorts on the Mandala Drum channel on Youtube. It shows Danny playing his range of Mandala drums during a sound check prior to the 2012 Las Vegas gig: The second is a short new piece from CBS news who talk with… Read More »Danny & Maynard video double!

Meshuggah’s Sinews Give Us Slow Motion Headbanging

Sick of me posting about Meshuggah yet? Too bad. Here’s an Official Video from the lead song of their just released Koloss Break Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion: Koloss is great by the way, and well worth checking out! You can still listen to the whole thing legally here. Actually you can’t, the web page still works, however the songs have since been removed. I’m sure they’re all… Read More »Meshuggah’s Sinews Give Us Slow Motion Headbanging

Maynard on the Standard Ass Rock Show

I read on Blabbermouth today about an interview Maynard has given with Carl Sundberg of the Standard Ass Rock Show on Oregon radio station KFLY.  Surprisingly the questioning isn’t as douchebaggy as I’ve come to expect from US radio.  Here’s a quote regarding music downloads and it’s effect on the industry: I think it’s a much bigger conversation. I think part of the problem with most of that is just… Read More »Maynard on the Standard Ass Rock Show
