Fair. No Descending is a bit of a head scratcher.Busty McCracken wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 10:56 pm Realistically how many times do we reckon they would have played as an entire band songs like Fear Inoculum, Pneuma , 7empest and culling voices?

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
I guess they'll play the same set tonight as well, maybe changing Intolerance with something. The new stage setup looks dope though! Maynard running back and forth behind Danny? Need me some vids.
Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
Like all my failed predictions so far I have no doubt they'll bust out Descending tomorrow night!
Setlist is fine, you entitled fucks.
I said the original 10,000 days set lists were shit and oh boy do I regret not going to those shows. I'm probably never going to hear wings for rosetta stoned right in two live.

its good for people that having seem them too much i guess. even then though i cant imagine they wouldnt go ''they didnt really play a lot of the new songs.'' :/
Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)

ya, maybe descending might be in tomorrows set but thats cause its two shows in the same city. actually i think they will swap out intolerance for part of me just like earlier this year..so no Descending at all prob.

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
2001 as in 18 years ago when the band was in their prime and likely rehearsing a lot more than they used to now because they were younger and didn't have kids and hadn't yet released 10K days and FI so had less songs to cater to the neutral fans? I do .. they were good times. Off memory they played a couple of songs from undertow & aenima and maybe a opiate song now n then.
And Tyson... you didn't go in 07?!!!?!

ya thats true about being in their prime. this is lazy though. cant help it. ive seen then too many times and maybe its just had its run. im just bummed out cause i figured they would be doing more new stuff then this. they totally could.

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
And that's it. You're basing it on you're I've seen them play these songs so many times attitude. Not everyone has seen them multiple times and are dying to hear the hits. Sucks as diehards who have seen the same songs multiple times but I wouldn't trade my place with the first timers for a minute. Enjoy the new songs ya get instead of lamenting the ones ya didn't

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
The same logic can be applied to any other band really. When I saw Iron Maiden back in 2007 (for the first time), they played their brand new album all the way through then did an encore with the hits. Didn't bother me at all.
I'm complaining because this is Tool and that they've just released an album after 13 years. I just wish they'd gone out of their comfort zone bubble they've been in the last decade throughout the greatest hits run. Hadn't their fear of public opinion been inoculated anyways? Alright i'll stop now

Nah, didn't go in 2011 either.
Would have killed to be at the Brisbane show in 2011 though.

In before Kittaan . #your not you're
@ettan, I would much prefer see a set where they play 4 or 5 new songs , H, Eulogy , Jerk Off , I guess I just temper my expectations better than some.
@Tyson fuck me didn't do 2011 either?!?!?! I can't help myself. If tools in the country , I'm there.

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
That setlist would be perfect if they swapped Schism/Vicarious/46+2/Stinkfist for Descending, and put Pneuma as the show closer. Really can't understand whey they are not doing Descending as a show staple (it's been only two shows so for this tour, but none of them have had Descending, and that doesn't bode well for the rest of the tour).

What a disappointing setlist.
Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
It is the European set I saw earlier this year minus Descending plus Fear Inoculum & Pneuma. Not all bad thus.ziggy23 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 2:42 am Tool - Pepsi Center, Denver, CO, USA

But if I would see them again having Descending + 7empest in above setlist instead of three of the following: The Pot, Parabola, Vicarious, Intolerance, 46&2 and Stinkfist would be rad.
Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
That's a bummer. Heard all three of them with this setlist as a highlight:

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
Stage show looks cool. Nice to see Danny in the middle. What's up with the multi platforms? Does Maynard roam the stage? Adam does a scissor jump off one?
Descending missing from the setlist is a strange choice indeed. Would very happily trade one or more of The Pot, Parabola and Intolerance for it. Most in fact most of their songs that aren't Aenema.

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
Yeah if I went to a show it would have been this one with no Right in Two, the only song on 10,000 days that I would put first to hear livems2r wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 3:44 amThat's a bummer. Heard all three of them with this setlist as a highlight:

Re: New Album Touring (with SPOILERS!)
Yeah not to he a debbie downer but descending needs to be on this setlist! they really added schism for the private shows? I love schism, but never saw descending in NC last year due to the only cancelled show last tour. i have lost alot of enthusiasm for it i think descending is their second greatest song.
Junior i will throw you a crisp $100 when in NC if you can bribe the guys to play descending instead of schism and the pot
